Thorold, Ontario – The start to Merrittville Speedway’s 22nd Season of Kart Racing was once again delayed by rain and inclement weather Tuesday May 12th with the next scheduled event Wednesday May 20th.

“It’s was really unfortunate – the track and grounds were just coming in and then we were hit with rain,” relates (Merrittville GM) Erica Bicknell-Jones, “if we would have raced … it wouldn’t have been all that comfortable either with the cooler temperatures. It’s not like we are giving up on Tuesdays just yet either … the Wednesday is on our schedule.”

Draws for all Performance Manufacturing Divisions – Vansickle Pet Valu Novice 1, Tim Phillips Garage KC Auto Parts Novice 2, RCM Racing Equipment Junior 1, Ed MacPherson Construction Junior 2, Superior PetroFuels Junior Restricted, Cassell Manufacturing Senior Fun and the Wilder Racing Engines Senior Animal have set the heat line-ups already with any new karters welcome however they will start tail in both heats.

Gates open at 5 PM and Grandstand Admission is FREE. Racing begins at 7:00.
