Brighton, Ontario – The third season of Brighton Speedway’s Kiwanis of Trenton Kart Klub continued on Thursday, July 14 with 36 karters signed in to the pit area. It was an action-packed and fast-paced night of racing with plenty of passing in all seven divisions.

Anderson Back In Victory Lane

Kyle Anderson drove to victory for the fifth time this season in Junior Restricted action. Anderson started second for the 15-lap feature, but had rival Nathan Rinaldi glued to his back bumper. The two drivers exchanged the lead on lap 12 with a pair of bump and run passes at opposite ends of the race track, allowing Anderson to retain the point position on the way to victory. AJ Rinaldi completed the podium finishing order.

Junior Restricted Results (15 Laps): 1. 17 Kyle Anderson, 2. 3 Nathan Rinaldi, 3. 77 AJ Rinaldi, 4. 16m Michaela Lough, 5. 23 Cole Perry, 6. 16 Jordan Burrows

LeClair Earns Junior Sportsman 2 Triumph

Chandler Leclair took advantage of his pole starting position and led all 15 laps of the Junior Sportsman 2 feature for his second win of the season. A tight battle for second between Holly Denard and Cole McKeown allowed Leclair to pull away early. McKeown took the runner up spot on lap 10 and tracked down Leclair. On the final lap, McKeown looked underneath Leclair off turn two, but didn’t have enough room to steal the victory on the final lap. Kaitlyn O’Blenis drove to a third-place finish.

Junior Sportsman 2 Results (15 Laps): 1. 48 Chandler Leclair, 2. 11 Cole McKeown, 3. 23k Kaitlyn O’Blenis, 4. 02 Holly Denard, 5. 17e Emily Peterson, 6. 07 Raiah Lough (DNS)

Bristow Wins Junior Sportsman 1

Cameron Bristow was the second of three drivers to engineer a number one starting position to a victory. Like Leclair, Bristow paced the field for all 15 laps, despite heavy pressure from Carson Down. Down took the second spot from James Markland on lap two and never relinquished it, but couldn’t steal the lead despite his best effort over the final five laps. All drivers ran a sparkling clean race with no contact.

Junior Sportsman 1 Results (15 Laps): 1. 99 Cameron Bristow, 2. 55 Carson Down, 3. 21 James Markland, 4. 92 Keira Turner

Terpstra Claims Rookie 2 Feature

A third-place starting position didn’t phase Emma Terpstra one bit as the Picton youngster drove to victory. Terpstra got by second-starting Koen O’Hara quickly and then sized up polesitter Ashton Leclair. She took the point on lap 3 with a pass off turn two and never looked back on the way to her third victory of the season.

Rookie 2 Results (10 Laps): 1. 22 Emma Terpstra, 2. 76 Ashton Leclair, 3. 83 Koen O’Hara, 4. 20 Nathan Shorts

Greig Wins Second Rookie 1 Main

Ryan Greig was the third driver on the night to use his pole starting position as an advantage and led the field for 10 straight laps to earn his second win this season. Greig had to hold off Carson McKee early in the race and later Jace James following a lap eight restart. He thwarted the challenges successfully each time to cross the finish line first.

Rookie 1 Results (10 Laps): 1. 48 Ryan Greig, 2. 99J Jace James, 3. 66 Carson McKee, 4. 74 Lexi Lucas, 5. 03 Brooklyn Bowers

Cooper Scores Second Straight Box Stock 2 Win

Tyson Cooper drove from the third starting position to take the lead from Max McDonald on lap seven and led the final three laps to earn his victory. He had to defend his first-place position from two-time winner Jacob Down following a lap seven restart and ran a smooth line to earn the win over Down and Cooper McKeown.

Box Stock 2 Results (10 Laps): 1. 87jr Tyson Cooper, 2. 57 Jacob Down, 3. 9 Cooper McKeown, 4. 71 Trevyn McCrillis, 5. 22 Max McDonald

Gabe Miller Goes To Winner’s Circle

A flurry of activity in the Box Stock 1 feature produced a number of exciting battles, but when the dust settled it was Gabe Miller in the winner’s circle for the second straight week. Miller took the lead on lap three after the top two karts spun in turn two. From there, Miller defended his ground against second-place finisher Callie Bristow and Coleson Gregroy’s No.1.

Box Stock 1 Results (10 Laps): 1. 51 Gabe Miller, 2. 20 Callie Bristow, 3. 1 Coleson Gregory, 4. 15 Gordie Miller
