A big week for Jordan Szoke saw him follow up his Shannonville CSBK win with a second place finish in a Kelso MTB event.
Brantford, Ontario – Fresh off a win at Round One of the Mopar Canadian National Superbike Championship Jordan Szoke unloaded his superbikes out of the rig and his Mountain Bike into the back of the pickup.
"Im really tired," says Szoke. "It's been a big pull to get ready and we are straight off a National Superbike weekend but I really wanted to come ride as many Kelso races as I could. I mean I'm the defending champ from last season, I wanted to represent!"
With a fresh new 9km course Szoke prepared himself for the first of three loops that would complete the expert race. When asked about the new layout Szoke responds "I really like this new course, that's another reason why I wanted to come. I hear it was going to be awesome! Props to the course designers it was really great."
Staying behind the race leader and eventual winner, Szoke rode his rear tire for most of the race. "I am really good at the technical single track." says Szoke. "Although when it comes to the flats my smaller stature gives me a disadvantage and it is gut wrenching to watch the bigger guys pull away from me. I gassed myself during the last climb trying to catch him."
Finishing second Szoke says, "I'm happy about my results. I am entered in the Lake2Lake 29er event on Fathers Day so I wanted to warm up at this event to represent our sponsors and my title in the process. I will be back to earn a win here soon."
