Trois-Rivieres, Quebec – Dumoulin Competition, King Autosport and Mario Gosselin have turned a new page in history in 2014 by becoming the first team made up entirely of Quebecers to ever win the NASCAR Canadian Tire series championship. For the 2015 season, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin once again partners up with his powerful technical and sporting team to prepare the #47 WeatherTech Canada / Bellemare Group cars and to defend the title of Canadian champion.
The off season has not given the team any time to rest, as they have been busy working to make the most out of their expertise, as well as looking for and developing new strategies and settings that will allow them to remain competitive.
“We are in full preparation mode,” shares Mario Gosselin, crew chief for the #47 WeatherTech Canada / Bellemare Group team. “We are fully aware of the necessary adjustments our program demands, and they are already being optimized in our workshop. The synergy of our team is in full effect, and I’m proud of what we accomplished in the 2014 season, we’re all working very hard together to offer a repeat performance. Finishing in the top-5 at all races and being consistent is a winning formula, we’re committed to keeping up the same pace and continue to aim for a championship win.”
Optimal performance, the improvement of our teammates, and efficient development of our mechanical adjustments will allow the team to perform private trials earlier in the spring.
“Last year, multiple challenges were overcome, notably between teammates who have quickly learned to work together at peak efficiency. In 2015, we have a head start and we wish to continue to make history by winning a second championship in a row. Furthermore, the testing we’ve done in the NASCAR Xfiniti series allow us to use a more efficient method for our cars in the NASCAR Canadian Tire series. To date, the tests have been convincing,” explains Martin Roy, owner and driver at King Autosport.
For the Canadian champion in the NASCAR Canadian Tire series, there is no doubt that solid partnerships, perseverance, tenacity, and willingness to never take things for granted are the most important ingredients of a successful team.
“Since the beginning of last season, the essential thing was to do our homework in order to have near-perfect preparation of the #47 WeatherTech Canada / Bellemare Group vehicles. We won the championship in 2014 because we were fighting amongst the leaders, and mostly because our car was very efficient. The team at King Autosport is aware of that, and of the power and development potential that we could optimize for the 2015 season. The competition will be strong once again this year, there will be more drivers for the full season, all very strong contenders who will also benefit from a revised, stronger strategy,” states Louis-Philippe Dumoulin, driver of the #47 Dodge WeatherTech Canada / Bellemare Group cars.
The first race of the 2015 season takes place on May 17th on the road circuit of the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

Trois-Rivières, Québec – Dumoulin Compétition, King Autosport et Mario Gosselin écrivent une page d’histoire en 2014 en devenant la première équipe entièrement québécoise à remporter le championnat de la série NASCAR Canadian Tire. Pour la saison 2015, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin s’associe de nouveau avec ces partenaires techniques et sportifs des plus performants pour la préparation des bolides n°47 WeatherTech Canada / Groupe Bellemare et défendre le titre de champion canadien.
L’entre-deux saisons n’a laissé aucun répit aux équipiers qui se sont afférés à potentialiser leur expertise ainsi qu’à la recherche et au développement de stratégies et réglages permettant de rester compétitifs.
« Nous sommes en pleine préparation, partage Mario Gosselin, chef de l’équipe n°47 WeatherTech Canada / Groupe Bellemare. Nous sommes conscients que notre programme nécessite des ajustements qui sont déjà en cours d’optimisation à l’atelier. La synergie s’est installée dans l’équipe, je suis fier de la saison 2014 et nous travaillons tous fort ensemble pour répéter notre performance. Terminer dans le top-5 à toutes les courses et être constants est une formule gagnante, nous poursuivons sur la même lancée avec comme objectif le championnat. »
Les performances, le perfectionnement des équipiers et le développement efficace des réglages mécaniques permettront à l’équipe d’effectuer des essais privés plus tôt au printemps.
« L’année dernière, plusieurs défis ont été relevés, notamment entre les équipiers qui ont dû rapidement apprendre à collaborer ensemble. En 2015 nous avons une longueur d’avance et souhaitons écrire une autre page d’histoire en remportant une deuxième victoire consécutive au championnat. De plus, les essais techniques effectués en série NASCAR Xfiniti nous permettent d’utiliser une méthode plus performante pour les voitures de la série NASCAR Canadian Tire, à ce jour les essais sont concluants », explique Martin Roy, propriétaire et pilote de King Autosport.
Pour le champion canadien en titre de la série NASCAR Canadian Tire, il ne fait aucun doute qu’en plus des solides partenariats, la persévérance, la ténacité et ne rien prendre pour acquis sont les ingrédients déterminants d’une équipe performante.
« Depuis la fin de la saison dernière, l’essentiel était de faire nos devoirs afin d’obtenir une préparation exemplaire des voitures n°47 WeatherTech Canada / Groupe Bellemare. Nous avons gagné le championnat en 2014 parce que nous nous battions parmi les meneurs, et surtout parce que la voiture était efficace. Toute l’équipe de King Autosport est consciente de cela, des forces et du potentiel de développement que nous pouvons optimiser pour la saison 2015. La compétition sera encore très relevée cette année, il y aura davantage de pilotes pour la saison complète, plus performants les uns que les autres et qui, eux aussi, auront revu leur stratégie à la hausse », mentionne Louis-Philippe Dumoulin, pilote des Dodge n°47 WeatherTech Canada / Groupe Bellemare.
