Ohsweken, Ontario – The first big event of Ohsweken Speedway’s 20th season hits the track on Tuesday, June 30 with the inaugural running of the Triple Crown Showdown.

The event will feature a “Triple Crown” consisting of the Super DIRTcar Big Block Modified series, Go Nuclear! Late Model series and Corr/Pak Merchandising 360 Sprint Cars, plus Affordable Towing & Recovery Thunder Stocks. The event will feature the inaugural Ohsweken visits for both the Super DIRTcar Big Block Modified series and Go Nuclear! Late Model series, and presents a rare opportunity to see Modifieds, Late Models, and Sprint Cars together at the same track on the same night.

The Super DIRTcar Big Block Modified Series has a storied history with roots tracing back to 1972, and includes 29 events at 21 different venues in 2015. Billy Decker of Unadilla, New York is the reigning 2014 series champion, while Waterloo, New York driver Matt Sheppard is the current points leader after 9 events. The Go Nuclear! Late Model series has grown steadily since its inception in 2011. Trenton, Ontario’s Charlie Sandercock is the reigning 2014 series champion, and won the opening round of the 2015 season at Can-Am Motorsports Park on June 19. More information about the Go Nuclear! The Corr/Pak Merchandising 360 Sprint Car portion of the Triple Crown Showdown takes on extra importance, as the feature winner will be guaranteed to start no worse than 7th in the 11th annual Canadian Sprint Car Nationals feature in September. Similarly, the Corr/Pak Merchandising 360 Sprint Car feature winner in the Northern Summer Nationals on July 27 will be guaranteed to start no worse than 8th in the CSCN feature.
