Nytko Motorsport recently competed in Rajd Polski Historyczny (Historic Rally Poland) - Econova FIA class for Alternate energy cars. Located in Krakow - Poland, it took place September 7-10. This is the 6th running of this regularity rally and a round of the FIA Historic Regularity Rally Championship. The competition at the rally was split between historic rally cars and the Econova class for alternative energy vehicles. We were very excited about competing as it was the first Eco rally in Poland on the FIA level.

For this event team consisted of; driver Lukasz Nytko and co-driver Konrad Kopciowski who was substituting for Piotr Nytko. Our car for this event was a 2017 Lexus IS300h, provided by Lexus Krakow, a very big thank you to the dealer principal and their staff. Lexus Krakow is one of the top 10 Lexus dealers in Europe and its welcoming to see their desire to support Motorsport.

Route took place in picturesque southern Poland, starting in Krakow, going to Zakopane , Nowy Sacz and finishing back in Krakow. Historic class was fielded by 56 cars and Eco class consisted of 6; Toyota, Lexus, Honda and BMW new energy vehicles.

The first leg of the rally with a distance of 225km made up of 4 special stages that where run at night around north part of Krakow. Second leg of the rally on Friday was from Krakow to Zakopane and back to Krakow with a distance of 370km and 9 special stages. Saturday’s third leg was 354km and 8 special stages form Krakow to Nowy Sacz with a finish of the rally at the Museum of Technology in Krakow. Total distance of the rally was 949.5km and with 572.1km of special regularity stages over the 3 day of competition.

The event was a fantastic, we are very happy with a second place finish and it was awesome to drive the new Lexus IS300h.... a bit more powerful than our Yaris Hybrid :)

Final classification for the Econova:

1st A.Prusak / G. Gas - Toyota Prius
2nd L. Nytko / K. Kopciowski - Lexus IS 300h
3rd G. Kolaczek / P. Wojcik - Honda CR-Z.

The event was professionally prepared by the organiser and the idea of starting a rally on the historic Main Square in Krakow was superb. Adding to the experience was meeting Canadian tourists from Winnipeg that were cheering me on the starting line :) That was very nice and special.

A very big thank you to Automobilklub Krakowski - Erwin Meisel & Grazyna Holojuch, also Maciej Trzebiatowski as a competitor’s relations officer for a hard but fantastic rally.
