Toronto, Ontario – Lindsay Rice, race car driver and pilot of the #18 Rice Racing Porsche 911 is officially halfway into her 2017 race season, where she continues to impress in her 911 Carrera race car.

A resident of Toronto, Ontario and 7-time podium winner in Canada in 2016, Lindsay Rice continues to show strength in her racing by adding 2 more podiums to her resume in 2017 so far.

Rice has evidently defined herself well in her sport with a strong set of credentials after just one and a half seasons of racing ever. “I adore my car and my team and I trust them fully.” Lindsay states, “Once you have that, a driver can really focus on the task at hand – getting the car to that finish line. And that is what we do.”

Lindsay is competing in three different race series this season. Her Porsche 911 is classified in the GT category and is eligible for many race series across North America. She has contested in two of the three series so far this year in Canada and the US, this includes the Porsche Club Racing series and the Canadian Automobile Sports Club Race Ontario Championship.

Rice shares the new that she and her team took home her first ever 1st Place win at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in a 3-hour endurance race in May. Rice speaks her winning weekend, “There is really nothing like it. It was a brilliant moment for us and for our team. My driving partner Marco Cirone ran half the race, as did I. Luckily I didn’t’ see the torrential downpour like he did in his first 15 minutes of the race. And he was on slicks!” Lindsay laughs, “At the end of the day, the two of us stood atop the podium lifting our trophy high for our team.”

Along with her winning weekend, Rice competed in a second race weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park bringing home a fourth place win in GT Sprint races. Her series schedule brought the driver to visit the US in her third race weekend this year. “This season we are racing not only in Canada, but in the United States as well,” Lindsay continues. “In fact, I was there competing at Watkin’s Glen, New York in June for my first time ever. We learnt a lot in that race weekend, in the wet and the dry, and now we can apply this to my future competition in my 911.”

For 2017, the twenty-five year old driver is extremely busy as she focuses on her racing schedule and improving her performance on track.

“I am very excited to have the race schedule that I have this season,” says the young driver. “Let me first note that I really couldn’t do it without the support of my sponsors - they believe in me and in my sport, which has truly helped me get to where I am today.”

Lindsay Rice will kick start the second half of her season at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on August 4-6 for the CanAm Challenge races. Rice will then join in with the Canadian Touring Car Championship field, the third race series on her 2017 calendar, to debut her 911 on August 11-13 at the Grand Prix Trois Rivieres street course. This is the event that Rice entered in last year in GT Sport with the CTCC field. She will do the same for 2017. Her season will complete on Labor Day weekend (Sept 1-3) at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park with the Canadian Touring Car field.

“We can’t wait to get back in the car in August – it seems so far away now!” Rice laughs, “However, I will be practicing between events to keep up my mental and physical stamina for the races ahead. This seat time is quite essential.”
