Andrew Ranger had his hands full at the start of the day with the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge at round number two of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series at the Autodrome Chaudière on Saturday night. But by the end of the night he’d gained ten positions from the start of the race and collected a big handful of championship points.

The Mopar Motorsports Crew struggled with the set up on the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge during practice and Ranger only managed a 14th starting spot on the grid for the 300-lap feature event. “The car was a little bit tight on entry and at the midpoint so qualifying was difficult,” said Ranger.

Starting deep in the field Ranger quickly set about moving forward but had to use an unconventional line to do it. “I was using the high line and it was working for us,” he explained. “As the race went on the racing groove moved up and it helped us out,” he added.

For 300 laps Ranger had his hands full with the competition and battled hard to continue improving his position. “It was a little bit crazy and there was lots of action” said the driver “but the team worked really hard to make some changes to the Mopar Parts Dodge during the race and we ended up fourth and with a good points night” he stated.

After two races Andrew Ranger sits fourth in the overall championship standings just six points behind third position. “It was a good night for us, I enjoyed racing in front of a lot of family and friends at this track and I’m really looking forward to this weekend’s race” stated Ranger.

Andrew Ranger and the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team are back in action this coming Saturday June 20th at Sunset Speedway in Innisfil, Ontario.

Ranger Grimpe Au Travers du Peloton a Chaudière

Andrew Ranger avait les mains pleines en début de journée avec le #27 Mopar Parts Dodge pour la deuxième ronde de la série NASCAR Canadian Tire à l’autodrome Chaudière, samedi soir. Mais par la fin de la soirée il a été en mesure de gagner 10 positions après le départ et à remporter beaucoup de points pour le championnat.

L’équipe Mopar Motorsports a eu quelques complications avec les ajustements du #27 Mopar Dodge Parts lors de la pratique du matin et Ranger s’est qualifié seulement en 14ième position pour le départ des 300 tours. ‘’ L’auto était un peu trop tight au début et en milieu de qualification alors ça été plus difficile,’’ dit Ranger.

Partant loin en milieu de peloton Ranger s’est vite donné comme mission d’avancer le plus rapidement possible mais devait utiliser une ligne de course différente pour y arriver. ‘’ J’ai utilisé la ligne haute et elle a fonctionnée pour nous,’’ explique-t-il. ‘’ Plus la course gagnait en tours plus la grip était meilleure et ça nous a beaucoup aidé,’’ ajoute-t-il.

Pour 300 tours Ranger avait les mains pleines avec la compétition et a su se battre très fort pour continuer à gagner des positions. ‘’ C’était un peu fou et il y avait beaucoup d’action ‘’ dit le pilote ‘’ mais l’équipe à travaillée très fort pour faire les changements à la voiture Mopart Parts Dodge pendant la course et on a terminé en quatrième position et une belle soirée en points au championnat’’ dit-il.

Après deux courses Andrew Ranger se place à la quatrième marche du championnat à seulement 6 points de la troisième. ‘’Ça été une belle soirée pour nous, j’ai aimé courser devant la famille, les amis à cette piste et j’ai très hâte pour la prochaine, cette fin de semaine’’ dit Ranger.

Andrew Ranger et l’équipe du #27 Mopar Parts Dodge seront en action ce samedi 20 juin à l’autodrome Sunset Speedway à Innisfil, Ontario.
