Andrew Ranger and the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team were at Sunset Speedway near Innisfil, Ontario for round number three of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series on Saturday night. The team was looking forward to the first ever series race at Sunset, however a mechanical issue would end their night early.

During the practice sessions Ranger wasn’t pleased with the handling of the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge. “The car felt very tight and wouldn’t turn the way I needed it to in the corners” said Ranger.

The team made significant changes for qualifying and but the car was still a handful for Ranger. “I could feel it was a little bit better but still not quite where we needed it be,” said the driver.

As the 300-lap race began Ranger was immediately up on the wheel of the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge looking for opportunities to improve his 14th place starting position. Quickly he found the outside racing groove was effective and push forward in the field and into the top ten.

Suddenly however the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge was off the pace and Ranger knew there a significant problem and brought the car to pit road. The team went to work looking for the issue to see if there was a quick fix possible. Regrettably the mechanical problem was too serious for repair and they were forced to retire early.

“It’s really too bad for the Mopar Motorsports team” said Ranger. “The car was a little better during the race and I had moved into the top ten but unfortunately we had this mechanical issue. I feel bad for the team that worked very hard to help us improve today.”

The #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team will be back in action the weekend of July 4th & 5th at Circuit ICAR in Mirabel, Quebec.

Un Problème Mécanique Contraint Ranger À Terminer Plus Tôt

Andrew Ranger et l’équipe Mopar Parts Dodge #27 étaient à Sunset Speedway, près d’Innisfil, Ontario pour la troisième manche de la série NASCAR Canadian Tire samedi soir. L’équipe était enthousiaste pour la première course en carrière disputée a Sunset, malheureusement un problème mécanique les a amenés à abandonner plus tôt.

Durant la séance de pratique Ranger n’était pas très content du comportement de la voiture Mopar Part Dodge #27. ‘’ L’auto poussait du nez et ça tournait pas comme je le désirais dans les coins ‘’ dit Ranger.

L’équipe a procédée à d’importants ajustements pour la qualification mais la voiture était toujours difficile à piloter pour Ranger. ‘’ Je sentais que c’était un peu mieux, mais ce n’était pas encore tout à fait au point comme ça devait l’être ‘’ a dit le pilote.

Dès le début de la course de 300 tours, Ranger était enthousiaste au volant de la voiture #27 Mopar Parts Dodge et regardait déjà les opportunités pour améliorer sa 14ième position du départ. Il a vite trouvé une ligne de course adéquate à l’extérieur et a poussé la voiture au maximum jusqu’à une 10ième position.

Soudainement le #27 Mopar Parts Dodge était hors du tour du meneur et Ranger savait que quelque chose d’important se produisait, un problème mécanique l’a amené à ramener la voiture dans les puits. L’équipe s’est lancée au travail pour trouver une solution et retourner en piste, malheureusement le problème était trop sérieux pour réparation immédiate et ils ont dû abandonner la course plus tôt.

‘’C’est vraiment pas bon pour l’équipe Mopar Parts Dodge’’ dit Ranger. ‘’ L’auto était un peu mieux pendant la course et j’avais réussi à me rendre dans le top 10, mais malheureusement on a eu ce problème mécanique. Je me sens mal pour l’équipe qui avait travaillée très fort pour nous aider à s’améliorer aujourd’hui.’’

L’équipe Mopar Parts Dodge #27 sera de retour en piste la fin de semaine du 4 & 5 Juillet prochain au circuit ICAR de Mirabel, Québec.
