Victoria, BC – Team Northern Provincial Pipelines Ltd. competes at two tracks in Washington State this Saturday night. Lane Zerbin campaigns the NPP/C-Force Marine #81 Modified at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Washington. Darrell Midgley is behind the wheel of the NPP/Alien Race Cars #81 Dodge at the Wenatchee Super Oval.

Both drivers are coming off extremely strong finishes in their last race events. Zerbin was within a few hundred feet of claiming his first ever Feature win at Skagit Speedway last Saturday night. The Victoria, British Columbia driver grabbed the race lead with 10 laps to go, only to suffer a flat tire on the final corner on the white flag lap.

“It shows that we can be competitive right off the bat,” exclaims Zerbin, “it should have been a win but it (finishing second) was a strong start to my season for sure.” Zerbin wrapped up his 2018 season with a Feature win at Grays Harbor Raceway. He also registered two second place finishes in two other GHR visits last season.

“They don’t mind us coming down to race. It does irk them off a bit when a Canadian wins.” Four hours east of Grays Harbor Raceway, Team NPP driver Darrell Midgley will be on the pavement at the Wenatchee Super Oval. The Sidney, British Columbia driver finished fourth at his last race at Arizona’s Tucson Speedway (March 23rd). “Pretty happy with how we ran there,” says Midgley, “Wenatchee though is a different kind of track. The corners are a lot tighter. You really have to be on your game.”

The Leonard Evans 150 is set for this Saturday night. Midgley finished in 9th at last year’s race event. This was Midgley’s best ever finish at the Wenatchee Super Oval. “We’re ready to go this weekend. The car has been at Chuck Carruthers race shop the past few weeks.

He’ll be our crew chief this weekend.” Midgley will be on the track Friday night for an open practice session in preparation for the Saturday night show.
