RC F GT3s Return to Action in Wisconsin on Longest Circuit of Season

Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin – After back-to-back victories, Lexus and AIM VASSER SULLIVAN (AVS) look to carry momentum into this weekend’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race as the RC F GT3 takes on the longest circuit of the year at Wisconsin’s historic Road America road course on Sunday.

The AVS team enters Road America having won two consecutive IMSA races with co-drivers Jack Hawksworth and Aaron Telitz in the No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3. The wins came in newly scheduled sprint races in July at Daytona International Speedway and Sebring International Raceway. The driver duo has combined to lead 120 laps (of 162) in the two IMSA races since returning to the track on July 4.

Hawksworth has made three career IMSA starts at Road America with his best GTD finish coming last year at the track when he earned a fourth-place result. He has also run the quickest GTD lap behind the wheel of the RC F GT3 twice at Road America, including in 2017 and 2019. Telitz will make his first IMSA start at his home track, however the Birchwood, Wisconsin-native has earned top-five finishes in five of six Indy Lights starts at the 14-turn, 4.048-mile Wisconsin road course.

Townsend Bell and Frankie Montecalvo return to the race track at Road America, driving the No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3 on the strength of two top-five finishes since IMSA returning to racing at Daytona on July 4. Bell and Montecalvo finished runner-up at Daytona and most recently earned a fifth-place result at Sebring. Montecalvo earned his first career pole position at Sebring and led 13 laps in the sprint event. Both drivers have raced at the Wisconsin road course a handful of times with Bell’s best finish of fourth coming in 2015, and Montecalvo earned a class win there in the Pirelli World Challenge race in 2015. Last year, they teamed up for a ninth-place result in the No. 12 RC F GT3 at Road America.

Lexus is tied for the lead in the GTD manufacturer point standings and on top of the GTD Sprint Cup standings following the sprint events at Daytona and Sebring. The No. 14 Lexus leads the overall GTD championship and Sprint Cup point standings, while the No. 12 RC F GT3 duo ranks fourth in overall points – just six points behind their teammates – and second in the GTD Sprint Cup standings heading into Sunday’s race.
