Vaughan, Ontario – Justin Di Benedetto, driver of the family-owned team Di Benedetto Racing, will be competing in the 2021 inaugural season of the Nissan Sentra Cup. The young rising talent is looking at starting the season strong and translating it to a Championship win.

Di Benedetto previously participated in the Nissan Micra Cup, where he claimed his first podium at Calabogie Motorsports Park last season. However, the Nissan Micra and the new race-ready Sentra are two different cars; “the transition is going to be a considerable step up,” revealed Justin Di Benedetto, driver of the #4 Wondr Gaming Sentra. “The Sentra is a bigger car which has more power and more grip. I am going to have to adjust to the change in performance quickly. The fundamentals remain the same, but there are enough changes to make the driving experience different.”

Justin’s primary goal will be to get accustomed to the car quickly and efficiently, “my goal is to get used to the car as soon as possible. There will be new, highly-competitive drivers in the field, some who are graduating from Micra. I want to be in the front running pack, and I wish to compete for podiums and wins.”

Although Justin had a successful event at Calabogie last year, finishing in an impressive 3rd place in the second race of the weekend and first place in the Rookie class, he is most excited for the season kick off at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP), “I tested a lot at CTMP last year and it’s one of the first tracks where I learned to drive. This track suits my driving style. Unfortunately, last year’s event was cancelled due to the pandemic.”

Justin’s on-track successes have not gone unnoticed as series promoter Jacques Deshaies praised the driver, “Justin is a talented driver. He showed us what he was capable of doing last year in the Micra Cup. He is another Nissan Sentra Cup title contender; I am happy to see him join the field this season.”

This new chapter would not be possible without the participation of several sponsors who are supporting Justin this season. Among those partners, Wondr Gaming, an innovative and disruptive technology company in the eSports sector. “When we came with the idea of Wondr Gaming becoming the title sponsor, they were excited because their business revolves around eSports. I am happy to be part of the team, and I am proud to represent them. It’s great to have a sponsor who has your back and who is involved in the season.”

“We are proud and excited to sponsor Di Benedetto Racing and can’t wait to see Justin on the podium this season!” Stated Jon Dwyer, CEO of Wondr Gaming. “The popularity of iRacing is growing every day, and a strong relationship with Di Benedetto Racing positions Wondr Gaming to be ahead of the curve when it comes to new trends and innovations in the space.”
