18 year old Chase Pelletier has been awarded the 2014 Team Canada Scholarship.

The selection for the Team Canada Scholarship is a difficult process as there are so many great young candidates. 2014 has been a stellar year for many of the nominees and in the end one driver stood out among his peers. In just his second season of racing, this years winner left his mark with his first Championship and multiple podiums across the two F1600 Championships in Ontario and Quebec. The 2014 Team Canada Scholarship winner is 18 year old Chase Pelletier.

His accomplishments this season were highlighted by winning the inaugural F1600 Canadian Super Series which was made up of 8 races, half of the races in Ontario as part of the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship and the other half from the Quebec based Formula Tour F1600 Series. He found himself on the podium in both provinces several times, highlighted by a clean sweep at the GP3R to clinch the title. He also was the runner up in the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship. Chase also ventured to Mid Ohio for a different experience as he ran the World Challenge B- Spec class. He made the most of it with a pole, win, and new track record.

He has had a very solid season and has shown he has the ability to shine when given the chance. He is well liked among his peers and works hard with his sponsors and supporters. He is a great fit for our program." Comments Team Canada Scholarship founder Brian Graham. "As always we had a tough decision as there are some very worthy candidates who we know would be successful, but in the end we had to select just one."

The Formula Ford Festival is held every October at the historic Brand Hatch Circuit in England and has been the launching pad of some of the biggest names in the sport. Formula One greats Mark Webber, Johnny Herbert, Eddie Irvine, and Jenson Button have all won the prestigious event. In 2011, the first year Team Canada driver Xavier Coupal became the first Canadian to sit on pole for the event.

2012 Team Canada driver Garett Grist had his first win in Pro Mazda this past season with 2013 TC driver Scott Hargrove winning several event in Pro Mazda on his way to Rookie of the year and runner up in the Championship. Fellow 2013 Scholarship winner Zacharie Robichon won the 2014 Al Craighead Can Am Cup and visited the podium multiple times in the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship and Formula Tour F1600 Series.

Team Canada will once again partner with Cliff Dempsey Racing. "Cliff and his team are true professionals and always give us the tools to be successful. It is a little like a family reunion every fall for us to make the trip to Brands and be with friends once again. Each year we get to introduce some of our Countries best young talents and it is always a proud moment for our program. " states Brian Graham.
