Thorold, Ontario – The month of June arrived rather coldly at Merrittville Speedway but several drivers remained hot in Lucas Oil Weekly Karting Series action June 7th.

5 drivers would win their third St. Catharines Discount Auto Parts Features of 2016 in 6 starts. First to do it was rookie William Younger in the Vansickle Pet Valu Novice 1 Division.

Hana Rothwell – daughter of Van Raine Construction 4 Cylinder veteran Kyle Rothwell won her third Tim Phillips Garage St. Catharines Discount Auto Parts Novice 2 Feature. Logan Illiffe returned to Victory Lane for the third time in the RCM Racing Equipment Junior 1 Division and Dylan Culp made a last lap move to win his third Wilder Racing Engines Senior Animal Feature.

Paul Lindberg – brother and crew chief for Pinty’s Delicious Foods 358 Modified Rookie Gary Lindberg Saturday Nights was also a 3 time winner – taking the checkered flag in the Cassell Manufacturing Senior Fun Division.

In other Performance Manufacturing Divisional action, two drivers won their second features of 2016 – Jaedon Lawson and Dalton Slack in the Ed MacPherson Construction Junior 2 and Superior PetroFuels Junior Restricted Divisions respectively.

Saturday Night June 11th, the Karters will join the Archer Truck Services Night with a rescheduled display and exhibition. Kart Racing continues Tuesday June 14th. Pits Open at 5:30 and when the racing starts at 7 PM – Grandstand Admission is FREE.
