The Lucas Oil Kart Weekly Racing Series got back underway August 19 after a number of rain outs.

Thorold, Ontario – Merrittville Speedway's 2014 Lucas Oil Kart Weekly Racing Series Season got back on track August 19th with KC Auto Parts Victory Lane greeting some new faces and familiar ones after several rain-outs.

As a follow up to his favorite NASCAR Sprint Cup Driver Jeff Gordon winning his 3rd of the season this weekend, Randy Giroux also put his #24 in the winner's circle for the 3rd time in the Superior PetroFuels Junior Restricted Division. Brittany Kelly and Tyler Winger also became three time winners in the Drummond Home Hardware Novice 1 and Philbrick Farm & Garden Equipment Wilder Racing Engines Senior Animal Divisions.

In other Performance Manufacturing Divisional action - action June 3rd – two drivers earned their first wins of the season – Spencer Maytum and Paul Klager in the Tim Phillips Garage KC Auto Parts Novice 2 and Cassell Manufacturing Senior Fun Divisions.

Two drivers who both recently won 2014 Championships in their respective divisions in the New York Dirt Kart Series rounded out the night with Tuesday Night wins. Tucker Wood earned his 6th RCM Racing Equipment Junior 1 Feature while Dalton Slack ran to his club leading 10th win of the season in the Ed MacPherson Construction Junior 2 Division.

Kart Racing continues Tuesday August 26th. Gates open at 5:30 PM and Grandstand Admission is FREE. Racing begins at 7:00.
