Toronto, Ontario – Jordan Szoke will aim to continue his mastery of the Autodrome St-Eustache circuit in St-Eustache, Que. when the Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship holds its second event of the 2015 season at the Montreal-area track this weekend.

Since Autodrome St-Eustache made its debut on the national schedule in 1991, the Brantford, Ont. ace has more wins there than any other racer, with five, and on Sunday will try to become the first competitor to claim four straight triumphs on the tight 1.2km (1.93-mile), 10-turn road course.

Szoke comes into this weekend’s action riding a wave of confidence after claiming his first Mopar Canadian Superbike win in almost a year at the season opener at Calabogie MotorSports Park on June 14. The BMW Motorrad / Mopar Express Lane BMW S1000RR rider has 55 points to the 46 of defending series champion and Calabogie runner-up Jodi Christie.

Szoke is also trying to become the first racer to claim 10 career Canadian national Superbike titles.

For his part, Christie is looking for his first national Superbike win at St-Eustache. The Keene, Ont. ace finished second to Szoke in last year’s event and opened the defence of his first ever Mopar Canadian Superbike national title with a fighting second behind Szoke at Calabogie two weeks ago. The Accelerated Technologies / Honda Canada Honda CBR1000RR rider qualified on pole at Calabogie to snatch what could prove to be a vital point from Szoke in the Canadian Superbike title chase.

A Quebec rider has not won at St-Eustache since Ste-Adele’s Jean-Francois Cyr managed the feat in 2003, but Longueuil, Que. rider Sebastien Tremblay will be aiming to break that jinx this weekend. Riding the MotoNation / CrossFit Laval Kawasaki ZX-10R, Tremblay bounced back from a disappointing qualifying effort to finish third at Calabogie, and scored his first career national Superbike podium finish at St-Eustache last July, when he was third behind Szoke and Christie.

Another Quebec hopeful is Beaconsfield’s Michael Leon, who is coming off a career weekend at Calabogie, where he qualified on the front row for the first time and finished a career-high fourth in his first outing aboard the Royal Distributing / Multi-Tact BMW S1000RR. As a result, Leon lies fourth in the Mopar Canadian Superbike standings with 33 points to Tremblay’s 37.

Just two points behind Leon in the standings is Sean Huffman of Kemptville, Ont., who placed fifth at Calabogie on the Endras BMW / Pro 6 Cycle / Forsaken Motorsports BMW S1000RR.

Also worth watching will be Belfountain, Ont.’s Kenny Riedmann, who was sixth at Calabogie two weeks ago on his Sturgess Cycle / GE Capital Kawasaki ZX-10R despite suffering a separated shoulder in a practice fall.

Racing this weekend at Autodrome St-Eustache includes the second rounds for the Hindle Exhaust Pro Sport Bike, Magneti Marelli Amateur Superbike and Bell Helmets Amateur Sport Bike national classes.

Christie leads the Pro Sport Bike standings after a perfect weekend at Calabogie, where he qualified on pole, led the most laps and won on his Honda CBR600RR, giving him the maximum 56 points. Defending class champion Riedmann fought through the discomfort of his injury to take second on his Triumph 675R and enters this weekend second in the standings with 43 points.

Former Amateur national champion Philippe Masse of St-Hyacinthe, Que. is third with 39 points after his best career Pro outing at Calabogie on the Pete’s Superbike-backed Kawasaki ZX-6R, where he took third.

Raphael Archambault of St-Constant, Que. won last year’s Hindle Exhaust Pro Sport Bike feature at St-Eustache from Christie and Riedmann.

Fans should also keep an eye on rookie Pros Tomas Casas and Stacey Nesbitt. Peterborough, Ont.’s Casas won both Amateur features at St-Eustache last year while St-Lazare, Que. racer Nesbitt was second in the Amateur Superbike race.

Quebec riders lead both the Amateur classes after one event. Stephane Chimot of St-Lin Laurentides is looking to repeat his Calabogie performance in Amateur Superbike, where he decimated the field on his Honda CBR1000RR, while Brossard’s Alex Coelho goes for a second straight Amateur Sport Bike win on his Black Sheep Racing Kawasaki ZX-6R.

Action at Autodrome St-Eustache opens Friday with practice for all four national classes. Qualifying, including the Magneti Marelli SuperPole in the Pro Superbike division, takes place on Saturday while feature races go Sunday.

…Jordan Szoke is closing in on a milestone 50 career national Superbike wins. The Brantford, Ont. veteran was victorious for the 46th time at Calabogie MotorSports Park two weeks ago. His 25th win came at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in 2008.

….This weekend’s event will be the 20th Canadian Superbike national to be run at Autodrome St-Eustache. The first was staged in 1991 and won by B.C. legend Steve Crevier, who was also victorious in 1992 and 2001. Other three-time winners are Halifax’s Don Munroe (1994, 1995, 1996) and Toronto rider Michael Taylor (1995, 1996, 1998). St-Eustache held two events each year between 1994 and 1996.

….Besides Szoke (2012-2014) and Crevier (1991-92), only one other racer has managed back-to-back Superbike wins at St-Eustache. That was Sherbrooke, Que.’s Francis Martin, who won in 1999 and 2000.

…Three racers, all from Quebec, claimed their only national career Superbike win at St-Eustache. Montreal’s Marco Ferland did it in 1994, Benoit Pilon of St-Jerome followed in 1997 and Jean-Francois Cyr from Ste-Adele managed the feat in 2003.
