Toronto, Ontario – When it comes to the legends of NASCAR, they don’t get much bigger than Bobby Allison. The 1983 NASCAR Sprint Cup champion retired having won 85 races on NASCAR’s top tour during his illustrious career, including three Daytona 500 victories.

Allison, a charter member of NASCAR’s fabled ‘Alabama Gang,’ will be at Toronto’s International Centre on Sunday, March 13 at the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo Presented by Mothers. The venue is located across from Pearson International Airport.

During his appearance, Allison will meet with racing fans, sign autographs, pose for pictures and share stories about his decades in racing, including his many trips north of the border to race in Canada.

“I have a lot of great memories of racing in Canada and I’m looking forward to coming to the Toronto Motorama show to meet with racing fans, see some old friends, sign autographs and have a good time talking about stock car racing,” said Allison.

Bobby Allison was welcomed into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2011, as part of the Hall’s second class of inductees. The fact that Allison was among the first seven racers to be enshrined in the Hall of Fame speaks volumes about his place in the sport.

Bobby Allison Daytona 1983 NASCARIn addition to his incredible on-track accomplishments, Bobby Allison is credited with helping to bring NASCAR into the mainstream of American sports. The brawl following the conclusion of the 1979 Daytona 500 – featuring Bobby Allison, Cale Yarborough and Donnie Allison – was broadcast live across the country and put the sport on the map. To this day, Bobby Allison is still extremely popular with racing fans, who have supported he and his family through their triumphs and tragedies over the decades.

“We are extremely excited that Bobby Allison is going to appear at Motorama,” said the show’s Greg MacPherson. “He’s truly a living legend. And in addition to everything he accomplished in NASCAR, he also has a great history of racing in Canada. As part of his appearance on Sunday, March 13, we’re planning to have Mr. Allison on stage with gentlemen like former Cayuga Speedway owner Bob Slack and some others who raced against him, in Canada, to talk about their glory days. If you’re a racing fan, you won’t want to miss this.”
