The #47 Weathertech Canada/ Group Bellemare team will be on the track of the Autodrome Chaudière this weekend

Trois-Rivières, Québec – Behind the wheel of the Dodge #47 WeatherTech Canada/ Group Bellemare, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin will be on the track this weekend at Autodrome Chaudière, Vallée-Jonction, Québec, for the first oval circuit event of the season. While the NASCAR Canadian Tire series will celebrate its 100th event, the 2014 Champion will be participating in his 50th race in the series. With his usual determination and eagerness, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin hopes to accumulate points and get ahead in the championship.

Louis-Philippe Dumoulin made his mark last year on oval circuit (one victory, three podiums, six top-5s) and he fought relentlessly to reach the top-5 at Autodrome Chaudière in 2014. Combining this experience with the expertise of crew chief Mario Gosselin and his team, King Autosport, the driver of the Dodge #47 WeatherTech Canada/ Group Bellemare is confident in his ability to compete with the leaders.

“We’ve had good trials with Mario Gosselin and the King Autosport team last May. Furthermore, we were in third place at CTMP (May 17, 2015) up until the incident occurred, and our objective is to climb back up the championship ranks as quickly as possible to build a solid foundation early in the season. We’ll be in Quebec this weekend, in front of our fans, friends, and partners; We really want to give a performance that meets the level of their precious support.,” shares the driver of the Dodge #47 WeatherTech Canada/ Group Bellemare.

A race of 300 laps… in two parts

Much like the Riverside International (Antigonish, Nova-Scotia, 9th event – August 15, 2015), which is considered strikingly similar to the famous Bristol Motor Speedway (Bristol, Tenessee, United States), Autodrome Chaudiere is nicknamed “Le petit Bristol québécois”. This oval track (.25-mile asphalt oval) also features the steepest tilt in Quebec.

The pits are located outside of the track, making it necessary to completely stop the race, which the series plans to do around the 150th lap. The drivers will also be allowed to enter the pits at any other moment during the race. It is another challenge however, as every team will have to make their pit stop at the same time in order to change tires and refuel the car. The competitors will then return to their place for the race’s restart.

“My 50th race, really? I did not think we were already there. Fifty races in NASCAR seems pretty impressive. It’s a source of pride for us, as we’ve worked so hard since the beginning with our teammates, partners, friends, fans, families, and the media that have been supporting us all this time. I can assure you that we’re just getting started. We’re ready for fifty more, we’re looking ahead and we’ll be in it to win this weekend,” claims an enthused Louis-Philippe Dumoulin.
