Looking for 10th different Modified winner

Thorold, Ontario – It is sure to be an action-packed night June 20th when Ontario Truck Driving School presents of the first Autograph Night of the new season benefiting “KIDS RACE” and the Canadian National Autism Foundation – especially in the race for a 10th different winner of the season in the Pinty’s Delicious Foods 358 Modified.

“It was just 2 years ago that we had a start like we have this year,” remembered (Merrittville Speedway GM) Erica Bicknell-Jones, “at this point in 2013 we also had 9 different winners … it wasn’t’ til the final night in June that we had a repeat winner … it will be quite a race to see if Gary Lindberg can take his 6th win as well … before all the feature action takes place – race fans can meet their favorite drivers on the front-stretch for Autographs!”

In 2013, the drivers scoring single wins to June 23rd were Chad Brachmann, Mat Williamson, Eric Rudolph, Mark D’Ilario, Matt Sheppard, Chris Steele, Mike Bowman, Scott Wood and Pete Bicknell. In 2015, Brachmann, Williamson, Rudolph, D’Ilario and Bicknell have been joined by Bill Bleich, Boyd MacTavish, Billy Dunn and Tim Jones. Erick Rudolph was the first to visit Victory Lane a second time two years ago.

While Pinty’s 358 Modified Victory Lane has welcomed quite a mix of winners this season, for the Sportsman Division it has almost been owned by second generation driver Gary Lindberg who has won 5 times in 8 events to date with Brad Rouse scoring two wins and James Friesen one.

The on track action will be bolstered by a TUSA Modified Lite Tour Event for the Rev’s Full Throttle Powersports Modified Lite Division which has had former Champion Josh Sliter and his team-mate in Victory Lane on 4 and 2 occasions respectively.

The Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series Event will also feature the Pinty’s 358 Modifieds, Rick’s Delivery Sportsman, Hoosier Stocks and the Van Raine Construction 4 Cylinders who will all park their cars on the track for a motorsport meet and greet during the night.
