The Ramsay Cox Racing team is ecstatic to officially announce in partnership with Shaw chassis that we will be filing an entry to the US Nationals of Short Track Racing at Bristol Motor Speedway. The event takes place on the Victoria Day long weekend, and will consist of 3 days of racing, May 19-21. Friday May 19th will be a practice day, while Saturday will serve as qualifying, and Sunday last chance races plus 100 lap main events. This entry into the event is made possible thanks to the support of APC Auto Parts Centres, Total Lubricants, & London City Chrysler.

As well as the announcement of participating in the US Nationals of Short Track racing, this also serves as the announcement of a partnership between Ramsay Cox Racing & Shaw Chassis. Shaw Chassis will be building a brand new CRA Spec car to compete in the event. When asked about how this partnership was created, Scott Shaw said: “It was just a Phone call, Luke called me and asked about any teams down there and if they had a rental they could get in. I said we want to go but we have no driver and off it went from there.”

The team at Shaw Chassis is very excited for this event.

“having the deal done and working with Luke and Jamie is going to be such a great partnership. Right from the start Jake and I said we would work with them on whatever they wanted to do. This is the 4th new car we have built this year for Shaw Chassis’ and it is going awesome! This will be a brand new latest car that we will be taking and we hope to be very competitive with it. We have worked very hard over the winter just getting spare parts ect. Front clips rear clips spindles ect. So we will be ready for whatever this year brings us.”

Driver Jamie Cox is thrilled to be part of such an event, while Jamie has raced virtually everything in Ontario, this will mark the first time the 11 time Delaware Speedway champion will compete outside the province.

“It is going to be something totally unlike anything we have ever done, there is nothing around here or I have done before to even compare it to,” said Jamie Cox when asked about racing at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Jamie is a current standout in the APC United Late Model Series that travels around Ontario and offers the best of the best in the province. Jamie is has a 4th and 2nd place point’s finish respectively for the first 2 seasons the series has run. When asked what type of pressure comes with running an event of this magnitude, Jamie offered a very simply answer, saying: “Every race I always try to do the best I can and go for the win, this race I am going to have considering making the race an accomplishment as the talent level will be huge.” Jamie then expanded on what he expects for competition level in the event: “I am sure we are going to get the top guys from all the sanctioning bodies for the event, it will be all the top guys in the pro late models and we may have some guys run the pro late models and the super late models, I know that is what some guys do for the snow ball derby. This being the first year for the event we will have to see what it brings out.”

The Ramsay Cox Racing team has also partnered with ourExpression Studio to be the official PR team not only for the event at Bristol, but for the entire 2017 season. ourExpression will be providing a video recap of the Bristol weekend that will be available on the team social media pages a few days after the event.
