While they have been busy before at race events, this weekend the opening round will see Avion Motorsports fielding three entries in the NASCAR Pinty’s Series for the first time. Taking to the track at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) in Avion Motorsports cars will be drivers Charles Harvey from Terrebonne, Quebec, Robin Buck of Milton, Ontario and Carl Gauthier of Petawawa, Quebec.

Avion Motorsports principal Trevor Seibert and Team Manager Al Lebert are anxious to take this next step in the growth of the company.

“It’s been non-stop building cars,” said Lebert who will also act as Crew Chief for Gauthier this weekend. “I’m really pleased to have these three drivers with us to open the season. We have some other plans that should be coming online over the next couple of weeks that will keep things very busy for the rest of the season” he added.

The 2013 rookie of the year in the ProCam Truck series and 2015 in the ACT Series Charles Harvey completed one previous start in the NASCAR Pinty’s Series at the Grand Prix of Trois-Rivieres. This season he returns to compete again in the #09 Havoline Dodge with Avion Motorsports after they were recommended to him. Harvey hopes this can also lead to further advancement up the NASCAR ladder.

With many years of experience as a driver and instructor Robin Buck loves racing at CTMP. He’s recorded Pinty’s series victories at Circuit ICAR and Trois-Rivieres and now hopes to grab one at his home track in the #43 Ontario Chrysler Dealers Dodge after another runner up finish a year ago in the season opener.

Carl Gauthier began racing later in life but took to it quickly. This weekend with local support he looks to realize a childhood dream of competing in NASCAR in the #69 Security Experts/Esse Canada Chevrolet. Gauthier and Lebert have worked together in other series and won races. They aren’t always the fastest but take pride in being the smartest and it’s served them well and that is always at key to success at CTMP.
