Andrew Ranger scored the 20th pole of his career in the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge for round number five of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series in Toronto and led the field to the green flag on Saturday afternoon at Exhibition Place. While leading the field early in the race once again Ranger was contacted by an opponent at suffered significant damage to his car taking him out of contention for the victory.
The #27 Mopar Parts Dodge was blazing fast on Friday afternoon with Ranger at the wheel securing the premier starting position, nearly two tenths of a second ahead of the nearest competitor. Ranger was pleased with his car and the hard work by the team. “The car felt very good, great work by the whole Mopar team and it’s a long race and we’ll need to be there at the end,” he stated following qualifying.
Ranger would lead the first four laps in the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge and hoped to settle into a comfortable but quick pace and be there for the end as he stated. However on lap five Ranger would suffer contact from another competitor sending him hard into the concrete wall. “You can’t win the race that soon,” he stated. “If you pass me that’s one thing but once again we get hit and our chance for a win goes away,” he added.
The #27 Mopar Parts Dodge suffered severe damage and as the team attempted make shift repairs. While he would return to the action Ranger would go two laps down to the field. “We don’t want to be just driving around but we need to try and get as many championship points as we can” he explained.
Andrew Ranger would bring the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge home to a 15th place finish. After five events Ranger sits – in the overall championship standings.
Andrew Ranger and the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team now head west for back-to-back events in the prairies, the first on Wednesday July 26th at Wyant Group Raceway in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Ranger Et L’équipe Mopar Se Font Malmener À Toronto
Andrew Ranger fût en mesure de prendre possession de sa 20ième pole position en carrière à bord de la Mopar Parts Dodge #27 lors de la cinquième manche de la série NASCAR Pinty’s à Toronto et ainsi mener le peloton au drapeau vert samedi après-midi au Toronto Exhibition Place. En se disputant les places au devant du peloton rapidement dans les premiers tours, Ranger fût heurter par un adversaire et subit plusieurs dommages considérables à sa voiture, le retirant ainsi de la bataille pour la victoire.
La voiture Mopar Parts Dodge #27 était incroyablement rapide vendredi après-midi avec Ranger derrière le volant pour sécuriser la position de tête avec pratiquement deux dixièmes de seconde devant le plus près compétiteur. Ranger était content avec la tenue de la voiture et le travail fait par l’équipe. ‘’La voiture était vraiment bien, beau travail de toute l’équipe Mopar, c’est une longue course et on a besoin d’être présent jusqu’à la fin,’’ disait le pilote après la séance de qualification.
Ranger allait donc mener les trois premiers tours à bord de la Mopar Parts Dodge #27 et espérait pouvoir s’installer confortablement et rapidement pour conserver cette position jusqu’à la fin comme il le mentionnait. Cependant, au cinquième tour, Ranger subit un contact par un autre compétiteur le menant directement dans le mur de béton. ‘’Tu ne peux pas gagner la course aussi tôt,’’ disait-il. ‘’Si tu me passes c’est une chose, mais encore une fois on se fait pousser et notre chance de victoire disparait complètement,’’ajoutait le pilote.
La voiture Mopar Parts Dodge #27 subit de nombreux dommages et l’équipe tenta de faire les réparations le plus rapidement possible. Au moment où il s’apprêtait à retourner dans l’action, Ranger était déjà deux tours derrière. ‘’On ne veut pas seulement conduire mais on a besoin d’essayer et amasser le plus grand nombre de points au championnat qu’on peut’’ expliquait-il.
Andrew Ranger amena donc la Mopar Parts Dodge #27 en 15ième position passant sous le drapeau à damier. Après cinq événements, Ranger est présentement --- au classement général du championnat.
Andrew Ranger et l’équipe Mopar Parts Dodge #27 partiront maintenant pour l’Ouest Canadien avec les deux événements, le premier ; Mercredi 26 juillet au circuit Wyant Group Raceway à Saskatoon en Saskatchewan.
