Canada’s Best Racing Team (CBRT) is returning from the NASCAR Pinty’s series annual swing through western Canada with more positive results. First at Wyant Group Raceway and the series first ever double-header last Wednesday and most recently on Saturday evening at Edmonton International Raceway. Both are challenging short ovals that test the determination of every competitor.

Returning to action for CBRT in the #28 Race4Autism Dodge in Saskatoon was Detroit, Michigan native Armani Williams. For just his second time in these stock car Williams showed remarkable poise and ran strong in both ends of the two 100-lap races in Saskatoon.

“We were really happy to have Armani back with us again” said CBRT General Manager Joey McColm. “He’s such a positive guy. He worked really well with the team giving good feedback to try and improve the car every time out”.

As the team moved to Edmonton and the tough ¼ mile oval CBRT welcomed back Brett Taylor to the driver line up. Taylor posted a ninth place finish in the season opener with the team. This weekend though was a first for Taylor as he competed in his first ever, oval track race in the #25 Affliction Pipeline Services/Canadian Transport Consulting Inc. Dodge.

Taylor accepted the challenge head on and made some impressive moves during the 300-lap feature race on Saturday. It was a huge learning experience for both he and the team. “When we started the race we weren’t very happy with the car so we pitted at the first caution period and that helped”. “It get’s pretty crazy out there in the closing stages though so now I’ll be better prepared for that” he added.

“I think Brett did a nice job on his first oval, especially a really demanding one like Edmonton,” said McColm. I think we both learned a few things and we’ll be even better next time out”.

McColm also continues to be pleased with the teams overall performance this season. “Seeing how we’re maturing as a group, how the results are getting better, it gets me more excited for the future with CBRT” he stated.

The CBRT bunch have now packed up and are returning home from the west and will be back in action at the Grand Prix of Trois-Rivieres on Sunday August 13th.

Be sure to check out the new CBRT website www.cbrteams.com and there are still openings for interested drivers to join the 2017 season. Find out more through the website. The NASCAR Pinty’s Series consists of 13 races on ovals and street courses across Canada.
