Scott Hargrove Dominates Finale

TEAMCMS Ambassador Scott Hargrove completely dominated the final event of the 2014 Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Michelin proceedings at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. Scott was fastest in both practice sessions, qualified on pole position set fastest race laps in Race1 and Race2 and led every lap of both races and clinching the 2014 championship-a true example of the talent of this 19 year old Canadian.

Scott, from Surrey, BC has dominated the series in 2014 and ads this championship to his Rookie of the Year and Runner up season in the 2014 Pro Mazda Series. Scott led from start to finish for the second consecutive day for his sixth victory of the season in the No. 69 OpenRoad/Mark Motors Racing Porsche with a dominant run winning by 14.541 seconds over Spencer Pigot, his largest margin of victory this season and the second-biggest winning gap of the season by any driver.

OpenRoad Racing team principal and fellow British Columbian Christian Chia entered the young gun at the season opener in May on Victoria Day weekend at CTMP as a one-off and Scott rewarded his sponsor with two victories that weekend. The rest of the season provided dividends for OpenRoad and Chia, as Scott continued to lead the championship with wins, podiums, fastest race laps and plenty of exposure for the OpenRoad brand.

"Going into the beginning of the year, I never would have expected this as the outcome. When I got the deal with OpenRoad Racing, the team owner (Christian Chia) was like: 'If we could get on the podium, that would be great. I want a trophy for my new Porsche dealership.' And now here we are, we've got the championship trophy that will be able to go there. It's a phenomenal feeling. I can't thank the guys enough. Michelin tires, IMSA, Porsche, everybody that helps put this series together. I'm proud to be the champion in only my rookie year. I can't wait to see where this goes." Scott Hargrove

Scott now considers his options for 2015 and may have a chance to race a Porsche once again during the US Grand Prix round of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup event at the end of October in Texas, stay tuned to TEAMCMS News Bureau for more.
