On Saturday night, Sean Cronan had a pair of strong runs in the pair of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Sauble Falls Tent and Trailer Park Late Model features as he finished in the top-10 in both.
Cronan started out the night on a solid note, posting the seventh quickest time in time trials at 15.119 seconds and used the initial laps of the first feature to move into the fifth spot with only eight laps on the board. The restart saw Cronan battle Paul Maltese for the fifth spot, getting the spot on Lap 11. He continued to run solidly fifth till the caution flew with 10 laps to go for a spin mid-pack. This restart didn’t go as Cronan hoped as he fell back to sixth behind Maltese, but he was able to use a second restart to retake the fifth spot back with six laps to go.
He then held on through the final laps of the event, crossing the line fifth for his fourth top-five of the season.
Starting eighth in the second feature, the opening laps didn’t go as planned as Cronan and Maltese made contact on Lap 2 in turn one and two, resulting in a couple cars going around. As an involved car, Cronan was sent to the back for the restart.
Restarting at the tail of the field, he began to make up ground immediately, moving up to the 11th spot by Lap 13. He’d get a good restart with 18 laps to go to move up into 10th, getting alongside Taylor Holdaway for ninth. He’d get the spot on Lap 23, though fell back to 10th four laps later. The final eight laps went solidly, with Cronan crossing the finish line with a 10th place finish.
