Eric Yorke continued his strong start to the 2017 season, picking up his second straight top-five feature finish on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.
The past track champion began the evening strongly, winning his first heat prior to a third-place finish in the second qualifier.
With the field set, he began the 25-lap feature from the 12th position, and ran there up until the first caution of the event at Lap 5. Following the restart, he was able to make up ground, running seventh as of Lap 13. He moved up another spot to sixth, before getting alongside defending track champion Nic Montanari for fifth at Lap 16, passing him for the spot two laps later.
Yorke was then able to survive a late-race restart to post a fifth-place finish, after kicking off the year with a third on night one.
