Toronto, Ontario – Mopar has extended its title sponsorship of the Canadian Superbike Championship for an additional two years, carrying its support of Canada’s premier motorcycle road racing series through the end of the 2016 season.

Mopar joined the Canadian series as an associate sponsor in 2011 and took over title sponsorship at the start of the 2012 campaign.

“We are very happy to continue our relationship with Mopar for an additional two years,” said Colin Fraser of Professional Motorsports Productions, which runs the Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship. “Their ongoing support is very important as we attempt to broaden the reach of the series and expand the showcase for Canada’s top motorcycle road racing talent.”

This year’s five-round, seven-race national tour features the first trip west of Ontario since 2010 when the Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship visits Edmonton’s Castrol Raceway for a doubleheader July 10-12. The series also returns to Calabogie MotorSports Park for its season opener June 13-14 after last visiting the Ottawa-area venue to open the 2009 season.

“We have been very pleased with the way the Canadian Superbike Championship has promoted the Mopar name and we look forward to continuing this relationship for another two years,” said Jim Kiritsis National Manager, Service and Mopar, FCA Canada. “We think motorcycle road racing connects with fans as passionate about performance as we are and allows us to broaden the awareness of our products and services.”

Today, Mopar is FCA’s service, parts and customer-care brand and distributes more than 500,000 parts and accessories in more than 130 markets, integrating service, parts and customer-care operations in order to enhance dealer and customer support worldwide. Mopar is the source for genuine parts and accessories for FCA brands.

Mopar parts are unique in that they are engineered and tested with the same teams that create factory-authorized vehicle specifications for FCA vehicles – a direct connection that no other aftermarket parts company can provide. The 2015 Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship campaign will open at Calabogie on the weekend of June 12-14 and conclude with the traditional doubleheader at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, about a 45-minute drive from Toronto, August 14-16.

In addition to the event at Edmonton’s Castrol Raceway, the schedule features races at Autodrome St-Eustache, just north of Montreal, June 26-29, and Nova Scotia’s Atlantic Motorsport Park August 1-2.

Jodi Christie of Keene, Ont. will enter the 2015 Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship wearing the number one plate after wresting the title from Jordan Szoke last summer aboard his Honda Canada / Accelerated Technologies Honda CBR1000RR.

Brantford, Ont.’s Szoke, Canada’s winningest national Superbike racer, is expected to return in 2015 in an attempt to capture an unprecedented 10th national title.
