Wardlow, Alberta – The 2014 racing season has concluded with an incredible experience for Ryan Linderman at the FIM ISDE in San Juan, Argentina. After spending a week walking the sand and rock special tests of the San Juan region, Ryan impounded his FC 250 Husqvarna with out incident. Having acclimated to the 30c plus degree heat, he was ready to face his first six days.
Day one and two went with out incident for Ryan, as did day three and four, but many others were not so fortunate. Over 110 riders were not able to complete was has been remarked as the worst single day of the ISDE. Fine sand and silt penetrated air filters and wore out engines at an incredible rate.
Day five was not so kind to the Hillcrest Mines, Alberta native, as a broken chain early in the day left him behind on time. As Ryan pushed to regain lost minutes, a miscue over a crossrut, left him with a very tender shoulder and collarbone, swollen from the impact. The six days is known for allowing people to show their true character, and this proved so for Ryan. He soldiered on, changing tires at the end of the day to prepare for the final motocross of day 6.
Day six went uneventful as Ryan rode to his first ISDE medal. Upon returning home to Canada, xrays proved that he had broken his collarbone and separated his shoulder. CGRT is proud, that despite the pain and discomfort of his injury, Ryan was able to push himself and finish this prestigious event.
