50 lap Winger Memorial, Vintage Race Cars and L. St. Amand Enterprises Wall of Fame Inductions to celebrate 64 Seasons

Thorold, Ontario – The Welland and Fort Erie Timber Marts are set to help Merrittville Speedway’s Reunion Committee celebrate 64 seasons of Saturday

Night Racing with the Annual Nostalgia Night July 11th.

“On behalf our fans of today and our Alumni … we’re all looking forward to welcoming back the staff from both the Welland and Fort Erie Timber Marts,” said (Merrittville GM) Erica Bicknell-Jones, “with free draws and T Shirt giveaways … it will help build quite a celebration with all our Reunion Committee has planned as well.”

Just before race time at 7 PM, the 2015 Inductees into the L. St. Amand Enterprises Wall of Fame will take place on the front stretch atop the CAA Stage at the start finish line. 3 Auto FX Graphics creations will honor the newest inductees.

The Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series program will feature the Pinty’s Delicious Foods 358 Modifieds in the 50 lap Jerry Winger Memorial in addition to regular events for the Rick’s Delivery Sportsman, Rev’s Full Throttle Powersports Modified Lites and the Van Raine Construction 4 Cylinder Divisions.

A planned night off for the Hoosier Stocks will see Vintage Race Cars rounding out the racing action.

“We’re really looking forward to helping build a bridge to Merrittville’s past, “said (Welland’s GM) Jake den Hollander, “away from the track we share the same passion as any race team – we’re here to get the job done – especially with our new partnership with Premier Equipment Rentals!”

Premier Equipment offers a Rental Program including lawn and garden equipment, concrete equipment, pumps, generators, compaction equipment, compact tractors, post hole augers, mini excavators, skid steers, and more.

The only thing better than enjoying a finished project is the feeling that comes from knowing you did it yourself. So dive in, get those creative juices flowing and when you’re ready to start your next home project, drop by the Welland or Fort Erie Timber Mart.

Timber Mart has the tools, materials and friendly knowledgeable advice to help.

A huge part of the night is all the reminiscing that takes place in celebration of the track’s now 64 consecutive seasons. The Drivers of the past enjoy meeting with the fans of today – many that can remember the early days of the sport. Just as drivers today can be second or third generation, so too are some fans.

Prior to race time race fans can look forward to meeting many of the families that have been integral in the success of the sport with a Generations Display along the L. St. Amand Enterprises Wall of Fame. Current generations will have their 2015 Race Cars on display next to their elder’s Wall of Fame Induction Signs.

Race fans will want to stop by the Turn 1 Bar to check out the display of memorabilia from the collection of Reunion Committee Chairman Rick Kavanagh.

The Welland and Fort Erie Timber Mart Nostalgia Night at Merrittville Speedway begins when the Great Clips Grandstand Ticket Office opens at 5:30. Showtime is 7PM.
