Ohsweken, Ontario – Ohsweken Speedway’s 20th season of racing continues this Friday, July 10 when Case IH/O'Neil's Farm Equipment presents Frankie Turkey Memorial Night. The event features the Corr/Pak Merchandising 360 Sprint Cars, Strickland's GMC Crate Sprint Cars, Affordable Towing & Recovery Thunder Stocks, HRW Automotive Mini Stocks, Gale's Auto Aftermarket Bombers, and the track's annual "Sponsor Night". The Thunder Stock portion of the event also serves as the first of two Duel on the Dirt series home track events scheduled at Ohsweken this season.
The first edition of the Frankie Turkey Memorial Night at Ohsweken will honour track owner Glenn Styres' uncle, who passed away following a car accident at just 27 years of age. Frankie introduced Glenn to auto racing at a young age, and remains an inspiration for many parts of Glenn's business - including the track's trademark orange.
Passes already handed out for the rained-out June 5 Sponsor Night will be accepted this Friday, July 10 instead. Each registered 2015 race team still has the opportunity to provide free passes to their sponsors attending the July 10 event. An average of 131 drivers have signed in each night of the 2015 season so far at Ohsweken, with the five weekly racing series divisions producing close championship standings, and 25 different feature winners. Racing will take the green flag at 7:30pm this Friday, July 3. Adult general admission is $12, while seniors and students are $10, kids age 7-12 are $2, and kids age 6 and under are FREE.
