The Weathertech Canada / Groupe Bellemare team gets the fourth place at Autodrome St-Eustache
St-Eustache, Québec – Exceptional work from the #47 WeatherTech Canada / Groupe Bellemare team must be highlighted, both from Louis-Philippe Dumoulin, who fought relentlessly, and from the King Autosport mechanical team in the pits. Relegated to the end of the pack due to an incident early in the race (lap 8), the driver of the Dodge #47 WeatherTech Canada / Groupe Bellemare ended up crossing the finish line in fourth place yesterday, on the Autodrome St-Eustache circuit. Doing so required climbing up multiple places, overtake by overtake, throughout a race that was punctuated with nine neutralizations (65/256 laps).
It was a relentless race for Mario Gosselin, crew chief, King Autosport, and each of the team members that have been able to display a fierce level of efficiency.
In fourth during the qualifying, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin started the race in second place following a penalty given to two other drivers. On the 8th lap, car #74 caused an incident that led to a tailspin, relegating the defending champion to the trailing pack and forcing a pit stop to repair an ignition wire. Between laps 9 and 124, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin patiently gained back places. Twice, he has benefited from the “lucky dog” to make his way back to the leader’s lap. On lap 192, the Dodge #47 WeatherTech Canada / Groupe Bellemare driver was back in full-force in the top-5, fighting stubbornly for a spot on the podium. In second place on the last restart (255th lap), Louis-Philippe Dumoulin was positioned on the outside and defended his place until the very end.
“It is what it is, I have a tireless team that never gives up,” shares the enthusiastic driver of the Dodge #47 WeatherTech Canada / Groupe Bellemare. We’ve finished in fourth place, gaining precious points for the championship. During the last restart, I was in second place, we fought in a three-car large pack in the second-to-last lap and I lost two positions. Had I started on the inside, I’d be on the podium. We had a lot of fun fighting tooth and nail until the end, it was some good competition. Four races to go, two road, two oval, and we have the cars to be among the leaders. See you at the Trois-Rivières Grand Prix next week!
