Riverside marks JF's second top 5 on oval track
Antigonish, Nova Scotia – Despite facing many challenges, Jean-François Dumoulin displayed perseverance and skill as he made his way from last to fifth place yesterday, on the Riverside International Speedway track in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Behind the wheel of the #04 Dodge Bernier Crépeau / Bellemare / MIA, the elder Dumoulin brother has once again shown that he can compete with the leaders, even on oval tracks.
The first appearance of Jean-François Dumoulin on the oval circuit of the Riverside International Speedway hasn’t been easy. Éric Laperle, crew chief, and the whole #04 Bernier Crépeau / Bellemare/ MIA team have collaborated efficiently, and the adjustments were successful. After the last trials session, they’ve discovered a radiator issue which could be patched up just before the qualifying session. Following that, the starter of the #04 Bernier Crépeau / Bellemare / MIA car needed repair. On the starting grid of the Wounded Warriors Canada 300 in fifteenth place, Jean-François Dumoulin has fought on track from beginning to end with the same intensity.
“I’m really happy!”, shares Jean-François Dumoulin. “The guys worked hard all day to fix the issues that occurred. A second top 5 on oval track means a lot to us, especially since we had to learn to work together very quickly since the beginning of the season. Times were tight right from the start, and the #04 Dodge Bernier Crépeau / Bellemare/ MIA was powerful and consistent.”
Dumoulin won two awards for his spectacular comeback on the track, the “Brembo Brakethrough Performance Award” and the “Dodge/Mopar Quick Three”.
Thanks to this third top 5, Jean-François Dumoulin gains a place in the point standings (eighth). The #04 Bernier Crépeau / Bellemare / MIA team is now headed towards the last road circuit event of the season, which will occur on August 30 at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
* The race will be broadcasted on TSN on August 22 at 6 p.m. and on RDS2 on September 4 at 7:30 p.m.
