Caistor Centre, Ontario – Team Turner Racing had an extra week to celebrate their first Sprint Car win thanks to Mother Nature, but got back on track last Friday. Now Jamie Turner and sons Cory and Ryan are ready to race again this Friday, and carry on a family tradition too.

AUGUST 14 – OHSWEKEN

A rainy day forced officials at Ohsweken Speedway to cancel the night’s races scheduled for August 14. The event was the only scheduled race for Team Turner that weekend. The team did get to enjoy meeting their fans at an open house at Gale’s Auto Aftermarket the following day.

AUGUST 21 - OHSWEKEN

All three of the Turner drivers drew starting spots in the same heat race last Friday at Ohsweken Speedway.

"My brother drove from 2nd to 1st which was good enough for him to be the 'Top Gun'," Cory said. "He was pretty pumped considering it was his first heat win in a Sprint Car, and his first Top Gun award!

"I drove from 4th to 3rd, which wasn't good enough for the redraw, and my dad drove from 7th to 6th which relegated him to the B-Main."

Jamie joined his sons in the A-Feature by winning the B-Main in commanding fashion. Ryan did not have good fortune in the redraw for A-Feature starting positions.

"My brother pulled the 8 pill and was able to finish 10th," Cory said. "I started 10th and was able to pass him with a few laps to go to finish 9th. My dad drove from 16th to 13th. The track was ultra fast and very difficult to make time on, but overall we were happy with our showings."

“This week we will be back at Ohsweken on Friday, and we will be having our annual corn roast!” Cory noted. “We will have a ton of food courtesy of Jerome Bros. Farm & Market and Springer's Meats, and drinks courtesy of Mill Street Brewery. We always look forward to this night...My grandfather started this tradition back in the 70’s. All are welcome, and we are expecting a great turn out!"
