Thorold, Ontario – With Country 89’s Trips Trucks and Cash Contest underway … a busy Sears Court area offering a wide variety of activities for kid’s and Merrittville Speedway’s Annual Race Car Show (March 14th to 20th) … March Break at the Pen Centre will be a not to be missed week.

“It’s shaping up to be quite a week,” anticipates (Merrittville Speedway GM) Erica Bicknell-Jones, “Race Cars on display means we’re taking a HUGE step forward to the start of our 65th Season … families can enjoy their staycation and who knows – you might win some great prizes as Country 89 continues to celebrate their first birthday.”

While race fans will surely be taking selfies beside the many race cars on display – a photo with the Country 89 Ed Learn Ford F1-50 could result in an invitation to an amazing reverse draw with 89 listeners gathering April 30th at the Ontario Street St. Catharines Dealership to win a 2 year lease.

During the Race Car Show on Friday March 18th, one listener will win a trip for 2 to see Kenny Chesney and Miranda Lambert in Dallas Texas.

A draw last month set the lineup of Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series Member Drivers that will be spread throughout the common area of Niagara’s largest shopping destination – a mix of rookies and veterans.

Race Fans will get the first look at the car that defending Sportsman Division Champion Gary Lindberg will join the Pinty’s Delicious Foods 358 Modified Division with as a rookie in 2016. Veterans Tommy Flannigan and Tim Jones are also scheduled to represent the Thorold track’s premier division.

Two months ago, we saw the image of 2016 rookie Trevor Wright after just having taken delivery of the former Austin Wood #38 and last month he shared a sneak peak at his #09. The 14 year old former kart racer will show off his car that he will compete with in the new Novice Division for the Yager Bros Trucking Sportsman.

Full fender fans can look forward to getting an up close look at the Hoosier Stocks of Peter Reid and Dave Small while the Van Raine Construction 4 Cylinders on display include another rookie and former karter Vincent Pagnotta in addition to veterans Alex Riley, Sam Iftody and Kyle Rothwell.

The Rev’s Full Throttle Powersports Modified Lite Division will have multi-time champion Josh Sliter and second year driver Steven Beckett showing off their motorcycle engine-powered cars.

Tuesday Night’s Lucas Oil Weekly Karting Series action will feature 2nd year driver Cohen Corbett and rookie Nigel Pendykoski.

In addition to pictures of trucks and race cars, younger fans will surely want a picture with the Easter Bunny who arrives in Sears Court March 11th. Race Fans will want to bring their Dogs and Cats for a Photo with the Easter Bunny on March 19th from 6 to 8 PM. The Pen Centre will donate $5 from each package sold by Cherry Hill Photographers to the Lincoln County Humane Society.

Sears Court will also host Niagara Inflatables, a 25 foot Rock Climbing Wall, Mini-Golf to benefit Community Care, Creature Quest and Safari Science at different times with some activities FREE while others will have a nominal charge.
