Six Nations, Ontario - Wet weather caused Alex Hill and her #77x Sprint Car team to change plans several times last week. They did manage to get two races in, and now the 16-year-old and her team have their sights set on the Sprint Car Capital of the World.

The original plan included three ASCS National series events, but the rainout of Wednesday's event at Plymouth, Indiana made them decide to stick closer to home. Plan B included Ohsweken, Ontario on Friday, Patriot Sprint Tour Fulton, New York on Saturday, and Empire Super Sprints at Cornwall, Ontario on Sunday. Further review made them decide to stay even closer to home by racing at Ohsweken on Friday, followed by Southern Ontario Sprints tour events at South Buxton, Ontario on Saturday, and Port Colborne, Ontario (Humberstone) on Sunday.

Ohsweken saw Alex finishing 4th behind some tough competition in her heat race, which resulted in a transfer spot to the A-Feature. She started and finished 13th in the 20 lap race.

The PST event at Fulton ran as scheduled while Alex and the SOS got rained on at South Buxton. Afternoon showers also threatened Humberstone on Sunday, but that event did run while ESS was washed out at Cornwall.

Alex drove from 4th to 2nd in her Humberstone heat race to gain a spot in the A-Feature redraw. She started in the third row, but wasn't able to make forward progress and ended up finishing 8th.

Alex will make her debut at Iowa's world-famous Knoxville Raceway this weekend, competing in the 360 Sprint Car division. Plenty of eyes will be on the hallowed half mile, as the World of Outlaws 410's are the main event with the 360's as their under-card on both Friday and Saturday. While she admits to being nervous to take on the fast, sweeping turns at the Marion County Fairgrounds, Alex gained some valuable experience at another famous track last month when she took on Eldora Speedway for the first time.

"They say they're roughly the same speed, but at Knoxville you're not always near the wall so I think I'm less nervous," she laughed.

ELSEWHERE...

-Cory Turner drove from 10th to finish 7th with his #97 in Ohsweken's A-Feature on Friday, then got rained on at South Buxton on Saturday. He won his heat race at Humberstone on Sunday, then both started and finished 4th in the A-Feature. Cory is 5th in the Ohsweken points standings after three weeks of racing there this season.

-Dain Naida drove from 6th to 2nd in his heat race and led the most A-Feature laps at Ohsweken on Friday with his #17x, but ended up settling for third after a spectacular race. He then got rained out at South Buxton with Cory and Alex. Dain is 3rd in the Ohsweken points standings after three weeks.

-Shone Evans and Jerry Hill continued their rookie campaigns in Ohsweken's Crate Sprint Car division on Friday. Evans crossed the finish line 8th, while Hill came home 10th. Evans has his #87x up to 6th in the points standings, while Hill's #49h is 10th.

-Steve Hess survived a rough-and-tumble Thunder Stock feature to bring home a 9th place finish at Ohsweken on Friday. Steve has his #777x sitting 5th in the points standings heading into week number 4.
