Thorold, Ontario – When Archer Truck Services presents Saturday June 11th’s Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series Event at Merrittville Speedway – the 2nd Annual Retro Race T Shirt Night will look back at 65 years of the sport through a wide variety of T Shirts worn to the event.
A pre-race Kart Display and intermission Exhibition will look ahead to the future of the sport as many of the Tuesday Night racers will grow into Saturday Night racing careers in the years to come.
“Last year’s inaugural Retro Race T Shirt Night sure brought back a lot of memories for us all,” said (Merrittville Speedway GM) Erica Bicknell-Jones, “we were quite surprised at what our fans still have … whether a favorite driver … favorite event or former Merrittville Tee Shirts – we can’t wait to see some more this year!”
Originally scheduled for Cotton Inc Night on May 14th, Merrittville’s Lucas Oil Weekly Karting Series Teams will have a chance to show Saturday Night Fans what Tuesday Nights are all about.
“This season we have quite a few former or current karters that have moved up … Trevor Wright … Ryleigh Sliter … Austyn Werstroh … Tyler Winger and Kyle Miller – they are all rookies,” added Bicknell-Jones, “and when you look at the rest of our line-up where do you start with former karters – two of last week’s winners Cody McPherson and Mark D’Ilario would be a start.”
Race Fans and Race Teams interested in learning more about Kart Racing can visit with the drivers on display inside the Front Gate Area. 7 different age groups are in action every Tuesday Night from as young as 6 years old to adults.
