Six Nations, Ontario - Mother Nature threw a wrench into the plans of Alex Hill and the Hill's Racing Team last weekend. The 16 year old Sprint Car driver has Ohsweken Speedway and Thunderbird Raceway coming up on her schedule.

The team's original plan called for NASCAR Truck series regular Christopher Bell to race the Townline Variety #77x with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car series at Rockford, Illinois last Wednesday, followed by Friday and Saturday events at Knoxville, Iowa with the National Sprint League. Alex Hill was scheduled to run the 360 Sprint Car event at Knoxville on Saturday, before her first trip to Double X Speedway in California, Missouri to race against the ASCS Warrior Region on Sunday.

Bell's night at Rockford began with a broken driveline in hot laps, forcing the team to miss time trials while repairs were made. Bell moved from 9th to 5th in his heat race to earn the 14th starting spot in the A-Feature. The driver from Norman, Oklahoma was moving rapidly through the pack until the very heavy track surface bit, and he wheelied hard into the wall. Fortunately he was able to walk away from the crash, but the car was heavily damaged.

"Can't help but think had things played out differently that we had a shot at the win tonight," lamented crew chief Daryl Turford.

Due to the damage sustained at Rockford, the team was not able to field a car for Bell at Knoxville on Friday. Rain on Saturday cancelled the races at Knoxville, and a forecast for more rain at Double X on Sunday sent the team back east to Erie, Pennsylvania for a Patriot Sprint Tour event.

Alex missed transferring to the A-Feature at Eriez Speedway by just one spot, while Tecumseh, Michigan teammate Dain Naida took an 8th place finish. Naida spent the previous evening at Mercer, Pennsylvania where he finished 14th against the PST with his #17x.

Cory Turner travelled from his Caistor Centre, Ontario home to Brewerton, New York on Wednesday night with his #97, but missed a transfer spot to the A-Feature against a tough Empire Super Sprints CNY Speedweek field. He had better luck at Fulton, New York on Saturday, where he drove from 19th to finish 11th on a very slick surface.

Both Cory and Dain also competed in the Southern Ontario Sprints challenge race at Ohsweken, Ontario on Friday. Cory finished 4th and Dain finished 8th at the home track of the Hill's Racing Team that night, and now sit tied for 2nd in the Ohsweken Speedway championship points standings.

Shone Evans and Jerry Hill represented Hill's Racing in the Crate Sprint Car division at Ohsweken on Friday. Hill drove from 12th to finish 7th, with Evans right behind him in 8th. Evans is currently 8th in the championship standings, while Hill is 9th.

Steve Hess persevered to record a top five finish in the Brock Leonard Memorial 50 for Ohsweken's Thunder Stock division on Friday. While many competitors fell victim to flat tires and mechanical problems, Steve steadily rose through the field, and is now up to 7th in the championship standings.
