The first Test and Tune at Merrittville Speedway is slated for April 19 at 5:00 pm, with the gates opening for inspection at 1:00 pm

Thorold, Ontario – In less than 1 week, Merrittville Speedway will open for the 2014 Season with Test, Tune and Inspection Day for all 5 Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series Divisions - Saturday April 19th

"The Pete Bicknell Driving School this past weekend was the first time race cars took to the track," informs (Merrittville Speedway GM) Erica Bicknell-Jones, "between the drivers in the school and those in the evening practice – drivers were fast right from the start. Our Test and Tune Day is open to any Race Car ... our Sportsman and 358 Modified Race Teams and maybe even some Sprint Cars will be getting geared up for the Seaway Mall Spring Sizzler for sure."

Test and Tune Day should provide Race Fans with something they have been waiting for since last fall – especially with the winter that we have all endured. For Race Teams – it's Spring Training and the pre-season all wrapped up in a one day session to test out the new car and for some - a new division.

Drivers representing the Hoosier Stocks, J&S Heating and Air Conditioning Modified Lites and Turn 4 Collision 4 Cylinders will be looking for all important seat time in preparation for the 2014 Championship Chase Kickoff presented for the first time by Pinty's - Saturday May 3rd.

The Seaway Mall Spring Sizzler will see the Bobcat of Hamilton 358 Modifieds and Rick's Delivery Sportsman in action in addition to the Season Opener for the Patriot Sprint Tour.

Race Teams should make note that the Pit Gates will open at 1 PM April 19th for Inspection with the first Test and Tune Session scheduled for 5:00 PM. Cars will not be allowed on the track until they are inspected.

Grandstand Admission is free and only the Tower Concession will be open.
