Wetaskiwin, Alberta – Louis-Philippe Dumoulin made full use of his patience and strategy last evening on the short Edmonton International Raceway oval. Qualified fourth after a very productive practice session earlier in the day, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin kept his #47 WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare car in the lead pack for the duration of the race. With only 17 laps left in the 300-lap race, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin slipped by the two leaders in handbook fashion and ran out the race from there.
Louis-Philippe Dumoulin displayed his tenacity by pushing the leader from mid-race until lap 268 when a caution flag was displayed. Restarting from the outside file on the front row, the #47 WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare driver let the pole sitter and second row (inside) starter fight it out on well used tires. Louis-Philippe Dumoulin was then able to slip by both drivers on the inside and grab the lead of the race, which he held on to until the checkered flag came out 17 laps later.
This highly tactical victory is testimony to the outstanding work from every member of the #47 WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare team. “We won! I am especially happy for the team, after the problems we encountered in Saskatoon. The fight with Tagliani and Lacroix was clean, and the car was perfect thanks to the fantastic work of the team. Now we go on to Trois-Rivières in a strong position,” according to Louis-Philippe Dumoulin after the race.
This mid-season victory moves Louis-Philippe Dumoulin back into the lead for the NASCAR Pinty’s Series driver championship, a great situation when going to his home race, the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières (10th to 12th August).

It is with great pride that the #47 WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare team will present themselves at the mythical event which is the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières, on the August 11-12th weekend. This race always holds special importance for the Dumoulin brothers, as it takes place in their native town, imprinted with memories and success.
The race will be broadcast on TSN on Saturday August 11th at 1:30 p.m. and on RDS on Tuesday August 28th at 10:30 p.m.
