Thornburg, Virginia – Treyten Lapcevich, driver of the No. 77 Evirum/BKFC machine in the zMAX CARS Tour, rolled off confident at Dominion Raceway in Virginia. Lapcevich qualified 4th and felt like he had a great car going into the race. On the initial restart, Lapcevich got shuffled back and would fall to 6th. The caution flew with 48 laps to go, and after that Lapcevich knew it was time to charge to the front. Lapcevich battled hard and would restart in the 3rd position with 9 laps remaining. At this point, Lapcevich would face issues and would battle with everything he had until the end. It was a battle right until the finish line, where Lapcevich would end up 3rd.

“I think some of the exhaust fell apart with about 30 laps to go, it got really fumy and loud inside the car, and obviously a loss of power there too. Overall, I’m really happy to get our first podium finish with the Allrem Racing Evirum/BKFC 77 team, and give the Chad Bryant Racing team a good weekend”, commented Lapcevich after his performance.

Looking back at this season's success, Lapcevich had this to say: “We’ve had 7 top 10s in 8 races, and I can't thank Chad enough for giving me a good car week in and out. This year has been a lot about me learning the new tracks and cars, and we are now showing everyone what we can do.” Moving into the next race at Caraway Speedway in Sophia (NC), Lapcevich is focused on the championship run and getting more podium finishes.

This weekend was about more than racing for Lapcevich, he had young Thomas (a child cancer survivor) join him to cheer him on. “Having Thomas and his family there was awesome, seeing how excited they all were was such a rewarding experience. I can’t thank Mini Tyrell and his family enough for putting this entire event on, it was great”.

Friday evening would allow for a dinner to be put on, where Thomas and Treyten would bond over card games. Thomas got to ride around the race track in the #77 car, as well as join Lapcevich for the driver introductions in front of the crowd on race night, making both the families and the drivers entire day. All of these families came from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, all of which are fighting a challenging battle. “A very impactful personal experience for myself” added Lapcevich.

The next zMAX CARS Tour race is schedule for July 3rd at Caraway Speedway, Sophia (NC). Fans can watch all zMAX CARS Tour races live on FloRacing.
