Bowmanville, Ontario – Steve Côté and the Allrem Racing team had a great weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, competing in the WeatherTech 200, a NASCAR Canada Series presented by Pinty’s and Evirum event. Côté delivered his best performance of the season, securing a 7th-place finish.

Côté took on the final road course event of the season, commanding the #29 Evirum/BKFC Chevrolet. On Saturday, he posted the 13th fastest time during Practice, showing promise for the race ahead.

However, Qualifying presented some challenges, with Côté recording the 19th fastest time. Climbing through the field would be no easy task, particularly with engine issues plaguing the car.

As the green flag waved for the WeatherTech 200 on Sunday, Côté wasted no time, skillfully working his way up the field. He narrowly avoided a second-lap incident involving drivers ahead of him, setting the stage for a strategic race.

“We decided to run the race without changing tires,” explained Steve Côté. “I had to be cautious with my driving to preserve the tires until the end. We knew this strategy would help us gain positions late in the race.”

“Given the circumstances, we’re thrilled with the result,” added Côté. “With the engine trouble we were facing, we hoped our strategy would pay off—and it did.”

“We made just one pit stop for fuel on lap 12, and that was it,” noted Jonathan Côté, the team's Crew Chief. “Typically, races at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park see a few cautions, so we were counting on late-race restarts to make up ground. Although there was only one caution with 10 laps to go, Steve executed perfectly our strategy, earning us our best season result.”

Allrem Racing will return to the track at Delaware Speedway, Ontario, on September 8 for the penultimate event of the season. You can find the complete race schedule for the Allrem Racing Evirum/BKFC #29 team here.
