Saint-Eustache, Quebec - With only two events remaining on the NASCAR Canada schedule, the season is racing to its finale. This Sunday, September 8, the NAPA Racing team returns to Ontario, this time to the fast and challenging oval of Delaware Speedway.
Kevin Lacroix is aiming for his first win at the 1/2-mile track, where victory has so far eluded him. Last year, despite finishing 5th, the result didn’t fully reflect the team’s capabilities.
“It’s a track I really enjoy,” Lacroix said. “It’s a very fast oval, and we’ve always been able to find our rhythm here. Delaware is one of the biggest ovals we race on. I typically finish in the Top 3 at this event.”
Indeed, the driver of the No. 74 Quick Strut / NAPA Racing has consistently placed in the Top 5 at Delaware Speedway, except for one race in 2021 when a suspension failure dropped him from contention. His best result was a 2nd-place finish in 2021, during a season that saw Delaware host three races due to pandemic-related schedule adjustments.
Looking ahead to the 200-lap race, Lacroix feels confident: “Our car has been outstanding everywhere we’ve raced this season, so I’m expecting a strong result.”
Practice sessions begin at 11:00 AM, with qualifying scheduled for 2:30 PM. The Delaware 200 will get underway at 4:30 PM on Sunday, September 8.
