Ohsweken, Ontario – Ohsweken Speedway's 19th season of racing continues this Friday, June 27, when Strickland's GMC presents the "Sportsman Shootout" featuring the DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, plus Corr/Pak Merchandising 360 Sprint Cars, Strickland's GMC Crate Sprint Cars, Affordable Towing & Recovery Thunder Stocks, HRW Automotive Mini Stocks, and Gale's Auto Aftermarket Bombers.

DIRTcar SPORTSMAN MODIFIEDS
DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds return this Friday for the division's only visit to Ohsweken this season. Formerly a weekly division at Ohsweken, the class has produced several current Corr/Pak Merchandising Sprint Car division regulars, including 2010 champion Dave Dykstra.

Current Humberstone Speedway points leader Gary Lindberg won last year's Sportman Shootout at Ohsweken, and will be a favourite to win again on Friday. He has won 3 features at Humberstone already this season, plus another at Merrittville. Lindberg is one of many Sportsman division regulars from Merrittville Speedway and Humberstone Speedway expected to compete at the DIRTcar-sanctioned event at Ohsweken this Friday, including Cody McPherson, a former Ohsweken Speedway Thunder Stock champ who won the 2012 DIRTcar Sportsman Series title, and Brad Rouse, who won the 2013 DIRTcar Sportsman Series title.

Some other former Ohsweken Speedway champions will be in the Sportsman field on Friday, including 2004 and 2005 Sportsman champ Jay Mallory, 2006 Sportsman champ Rob Pratt, 2003 Mini Stock champ Robbie Rounce, and 2006 Thunder Stock champ A.J. Lewis. Ryan Turner, a former regular in Ohsweken's Affordable Towing & Recovery Thunder Stock division, will be back racing at Ohsweken on Friday for the first time since moving to the Sportsman division. Turner won the Brock Leonard Memorial 50 last season. Several drivers who have run Mod-Lite races at Ohsweken in the past are now Sportsman division regulars planning to race on Friday, including Adam Leslie, and Joey Mastroianni.

CORR/PAK MERCHANDISING 360 SPRINT CARS
The 360 Sprint Car teams will get back to regular racing this Friday, following their challenge race with the Patriot Sprint Tour last week which paid only show-up points. Glenn Styres leads the championship standings, followed by Mitch Brown, Jim Huppunen, Chris Steele, Kyle Patrick, Dave Dykstra, Keith Dempster, Shane Ross, Todd Hoddick, and Justin Martin.

Cory Turner is 15th overall, and leads the Rookie of the Year standings by 7 points over Shawn Sliter.

STRICKLAND'S GMC CRATE SPRINT CARS
Ryan Hunsinger raced last Friday night despite suffering burns in a TQ midget event on June 14, and kept his lead in the Crate Sprint Car championship standings as a result. Jake Brown, Aaron Turkey, Tyler Hendricks, and Mike Thorne round out the current top five.

AFFORDABLE TOWING & RECOVERY THUNDER STOCKS
Wyatt Van Wart claimed his third Thunder Stock win of the season last Friday, and retook the lead in the championship standings as a result. His advantage is just one point over defending champ Lee Winger, with Billy Bleich, Jr., Karl Sault, Dave Silverthorn, Jr., Ryan Dinning, Steve Hess, Jim Lampman, Dave Bailey, and Bryce Richardson giving chase.

Chase Hess is 12th overall and leads the Rookie of the Year standings, with John Cote and Ryan Hess his nearest competitiors.

HRW AUTOMOTIVE MINI STOCKS
The Mini Stocks had a season-high 31 drivers in competition last Friday, but a familiar face was in victory lane, as Tyler Lafantaisie won his third feature of the Ohsweken season, and extended his championship points lead as a result. Team 66 (Jon Janssens and Brandon Janssens) is currently second in the standings, followed by Rookie of the Year standings leader Mark Bazuin, Team 81 (Alex Schuts and Lee Hils), Team 79 (Steve Miller and Dan Miller), Lucas Lubin, Dave Goodacre, Jason Lungaro, Jonathan Ayrton, and Tim DeBoer.

GALE'S AUTO AFTERMARKET BOMBERS
Max Chechalk won his second Bomber feature in a row last Friday, but he's still 6th in the standings, with Dusty DeBoer, Joe DeBoer, Gillian Hils, Ashton Reekie, and Paul Longboat ahead of him. Clinton Nicholls, Gerald Burnham, Dustin Longboat, and Tim Nuell round out the top 10.
