Ryan Turner scored a career best 2nd place in the DIRTcar Modified race at Merrittville Speedway.
Caistor Centre, Ontario - Team Turner Racing was in action at three different tracks in southern Ontario last weekend, and celebrated a career-best finish for Ryan Turner in his DIRTcar Sportsman Modified.
FRIDAY, JULY 4 - OHSWEKEN
Jamie Turner, Havard Daniels, and Cory Turner started the TTR weekend at Ohsweken Speedway on Friday competing in a Southern Ontario Sprints tour vs. Corr/Pak Merchandising 360 Sprint Car challenge event. Jamie started 8th in his heat race and drove up to 4th, earning a place in the redraw for feature starting spots. Cory and Havard both missed transfer spots in the heat races, and again in the B-Main. They watched Jamie bring home a 14th place finish in the feature.
"For the first time this year I was on the trailer, which was disappointing but always a possibility in Sprint Car racing," said Cory.
Jamie is currently 10th in the Ohsweken championship standings, while Cory is 12th, and leads the Rookie of the Year standings.
SATURDAY, JULY 5 - MERRITTVILLE
Ryan began his portion of the weekend at Merrittville Speedway with his DIRTcar Sportsman Modified. He started and finished 2nd heat race, and earned a starting spot on the outside of the front row for the feature. He got off to a good start in the feature, and led the first 12 laps before losing the lead on a restart. He wasn't able to get back to the lead, but did bring his #91 home in 2nd place - his best to date in the Sportsman division.
Ryan is currently 11th in the Merrittville championship standings, and just 6 points behind 10th place driver Adam Leslie.
SUNDAY, JULY 6 - HUMBERSTONE
The second half of Ryan's DIRTcar Sportsman Modified weekend was a weekly event at Humberstone Speedway. Ryan started and finished 4th in his heat race, and started 10th in the feature race as a result. Bad luck struck in the feature, as flat right rear tire with a few laps to go took away a potential top 10 finish.
Ryan is currently 10th in the Humberstone championship standings, and just 4 points behind 9th place driver Jordan Cosco.

Jamie, Cory, and Havard will be back racing their 360 Sprint Cars at Ohsweken Speedway on Friday, July 11, and also plan to race at Brighton Speedway in a Southern Ontario Sprints tour event on Saturday, July 12.
Ryan will be back racing his DIRTcar Sportsman Modified at Merrittville Speedway on Saturday, July 12, and Humberstone Speedway on Sunday, July 13.
