Before the Big Dogs take to the track for the Turn 4 Collision 4 Cylinder Triple Crown Series Finale August 16th at Merrittville Speedway – the Avondale Food Stores sponsored event will see Big Dogs ... Little Dogs and all breeds in between have their own time in front of the crowd at the Thorold DIRTcar facility.

Race Fans and Race Teams alike are encouraged to bring along their dogs for the annual Best Appearing Dog Contest prior to feature action for all 5 Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series Divisions.

"For many of us in the stands and in the pits," relays (Merrittville GM) Erica Bicknell-Jones, "racing is a family sport ... and that family includes a dog ... it's their night to join in the fun and not be left home."

For several seasons the Turn 4 Collision 4 Cylinders have enjoyed a race within the season long points. In 2012, Rocco Conte took home the Turn 4 Collision Triple Crown Series in addition to the overall title – Leroy Buscumb is in line to accomplish that in 2014.

The mini-series opened on Archer Truck Services and Semenuk's Esso Night with Buscumb taking the opener. When they switched things up for Semenuk's Esso and Archer Truck Services Night and the second round was rain delayed until Hingston Metal Fabricators Night... the end result was the same with Buscumb coming out on top once more.

In the Triple Crown standings,Buscumb leads Jason Coutu who is having a break out season of his own in the former Rocco Conte VW by 12 points with defending Triple Crown Champion Tyler Lafantaisie 28 points out of top spot.

In the season long points ... Evan Curtis is chasing down Buscumb with two straight wins of late sitting 16 points behind the leader with 3 point events left. If you remember last season's Championship Chase Finale ... Curtis and eventual Champion Kyle Pelrine went into the Brian's Tire Repair Event tied in points.

In addition to the Turn 4 Collision Triple Crown Finale ... Avondale Food Stores Night features the Bobcat of Hamilton 358 Modifieds, Rick's Delivery Sportsman, Hoosier Stocks and J&S Heating and Air Conditioning Modified Lites with their point races heating up as the Championship Chase for the 63rd Season winds down.
