136 drivers signed in to race on Grand River Powersports KidsRace Canadian National Autism Foundation Night at Ohsweken Speedway on Friday night. Wayne Johnson, Rob Misener, Josh Shantz, Ryan Dinning, Jon Janssens, and Joe DeBoer visited Mobil 1 Victory Lane.

CORR/PAK MERCHANDISING 360 SPRINT CARS (20 entries)

Wayne Johnson used talent a bit of luck to take his second Corr/Pak Merchandising 360 Sprint Car division feature win in 3 tries this season. Johnson moved up to the pole position in the feature lineup when Todd Hoddick was unable to start the race, and led all 20 laps on his way to the win. Current Sprints on Dirt series points leader Ryan Ruhl made his first trip to Ohsweken this year and pressured Johnson for much of the race before getting caught up in traffic. Johnson utilized the low groove to take the win by a margin of 2.291 seconds over Ruhl, while championship contenders Mitch Brown and Glenn Styres fought over the third spot, with Brown prevailing. August 15 feature winner Dain Naida rounded out the top 5.

TUSA Canada West Mod Lite championship contenders Paul Klager and Derek Wagner were bested by upstart Rob Misener, who used the low side of the track to steal the lead from Wagner and go on to his first career feature win. Wagner gave it his best shot, but spun in turn 4 on the last lap, allowing Klager to take the runner-up spot, followed by Jesse Hudson, Jamie Gilbert, and Jeff May.

Josh Shantz started on the front row of the Crate Sprint Car feature and drove away from the field to claim his first career feature win, with Tyler Hendricks taking the runner-up spot. August 15 feature winner Dylan Westbrook won a heat race and looked poised to make a run into the top 5 in the feature, but ended up off track briefly, and was 2 laps down when he returned.

AFFORDABLE TOWING & RECOVERY THUNDER STOCKS (40 entries)

The already tight Thunder Stock championship chase got even closer when leader Dave Silverthorn, Jr. finished 13th in the feature, and 2nd place Wyatt Van Wart finished 9th, while third place Lee Winger contended for the feature win. August 15 feature winner Ryan Dinning got around Winger with 7 laps to go, and went on to his second consecutive win, while Winger settled for second, followed by Pete Reid, Chris Dickie, and Jim Lampman. Silverthorn now leads the championship standings by just 4 points over Van Wart, with Winger just 7 points out of the lead, and Dickie still in definitely in contention as well, just 23 points behind Silverthorn.
