50 lap Spencer Memorial, Triple Crown Series Finale and Sterling Silver Events highlight racing

Thorold, Ontario – Brian's Tire Repair is one of the biggest supporters of racers through all 5 of Merrittville Speedway's Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series Divisions and will celebrate with the 2014 Champions with Season Point Finales featured as part of Saturday August 30th's Autograph Night.

"Race fans are in for a real treat," exclaims (Merrittville GM) Erica Bicknell-Jones, "in our 63 year history ... several of our points races could go right down to the final lap ... prior to all the feature excitement – we'll also have a real fan favorite event ... Autograph Night!"

A winner's list from the modern era of the John Spencer Memorial for the Bobcat of Hamilton 358 Modifieds includes Pete Bicknell, Fred Carleton, Larry Lampman Jr., Chad Brachmann, Mike Bowman and defending race winner Mat Williamson.. The original annual trophy also includes former winners Jerry Winger, Murray Stricker, Bruce Van Dyke, George Winger, Bill Rafter, Sandy MacPherson and Lloyd Holt.

Going into the final event of the season for the Bobcat of Hamilton 358 Modifieds ... Williamson leads former champion Brachmann by 17 points.

Rain delayed from Avondale Food Stores Night – another race to watch is actually two – the Turn 4 Collision 4 Cylinder Triple Crown Series in addition to the overall as Leroy Buscumb looks to stay on top in both. Buscumb leads Jason Coutu by 12 points in the Mini-Series and Evan Curtis by 14 in the overall standings.

The Hoosier Stock Division has three drivers with a shot at the title with Mark Fawcett leading defending champion Kevin Knapp by 10 points with Billy Hogue just 14 points behind the leader.

In the Rick's Delivery Sportsman Division, recently crowned David Chevrolet King of the Crates Champion Cody McPherson leads James Friesen by 20 points and in the J&S Heating and Air Conditioning Modified Lites ... Jeff May leads defending champion Josh Sliter by 30.

Justin Sharp is the defending winner of the Sterling Silver Trophy presented annually by former racer Ken Walsh in honor of racing pioneer Bill Willard, Sr.

During the course of the evening – all of Merrittville's race teams will assemble on the front stretch for an Autograph Session. The gates at the start finish line will open and race fans of all ages can take part.

Every driver will have custom autograph cards to sign for you and many will have special treats for younger race fans as well!
