Weekend powered by Rev's Full Throttle Powersports and many supporters

Thorold, Ontario – Merrittville Speedway's 63rd Season Triple Header Finale at Merrittville Speedway is anchored for the 15th season by the two day TUSA Canadian National Modified Lite Championship Weekend – Friday September 5th and Saturday September 6th. In 2014, the J&S Heating and Air Conditioning annual event will be powered by Rev's Full Throttle Powersports and a multitude of lap sponsors and supporters.

"It's quite an exciting end to the season," reveals (Merrittville Speedway GM) Erica Bicknell-Jones, "with the Modified Lites supported by a variety of divisions each night you will certainly not want to miss out ... and what can we say about all those that have pledged their support through lap sponsorships and other packages – it's why our event is a success every year ... we can't thank them all enough!"

The Annual Modified Lite National Championship has attracted some of the best Drivers from across the United States of Iowa, Texas, South Carolina, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New York, Georgia, Ohio, California, Delaware and others have been represented over the years in addition to our own J&S Heating and Air Conditioning Modified Lite that compete weekly Saturday Nights. Friday Night's Modified Lite $500 to win Opener will also feature the Turn 4 Collision 4 Cylinder Cars and the Mike Knapp Ford Pro 4 Trucks from the Humberstone Speedway and an 'Open' 25 lap Street Stock Event.

The 63rd Season comes to a close in a Sunday Afternoon Tradition – September 7th when the 100 lap Ballhockey.com Enduro accelerated by Niagara College will join Monster Trucks After Shock and Crazy Train for a mind-blowing motorsport matinee before Humberstone Speedway's return to action later that evening with the 50 lap Trevor Wilkens Memorial Sportsman Super DIRTcar Series Main Event..

15 years ago, Jim Varble, the then president of the NYDCA, set the groundwork for a special night to showcase the Classic Division each fall. When Lee Webber won two Merrittville Speedway Points Championships, he also served as treasurer of the club and his wife Rose Marie was an integral part of both as well. Rose Marie was diagnosed with cancer and after a courageous battle, succumbed to the disease.

Fellow driver Wally Billing was a good friend of both Lee and Rose and wanted to honor Rose by making the National Race a memorial to her and for 10 years her memory was celebrated.

The Tripleheader Weekend signals the end of another race season but it's almost the season to consider the two presenting sponsors products and/or services.
