Toronto, Ontairo – Organizers of the Honda Indy Toronto announce today a new three-year sponsorship agreement with the Toronto Star that will see Canada’s largest daily as the official newspaper partner for the event through 2017.
As part of the three-year agreement, the Toronto Star will produce the Official Souvenir Program and, for the first time, provide an Official Fan Guide, which includes a daily schedule of events and a complete site map, for every guest entering the gates.
"We are thrilled to be working alongside a top-tier newspaper like the Toronto Star,” said Charlie Johnstone, President of Honda Indy Toronto. “The newspaper is a well-respected resource for a variety of news, locally and around the world. This partner will help drive visibility for this event."
The new sponsorship arrangement aims to enhance the overall exposure of the event, providing readers with extensive track-level coverage and daily updates online, at work or at their doorstep, while also ensuring that event-goers are fully equipped for the best possible on-site experience.
“We plan to provide readers with the best possible coverage of this great event,” said Sandy Muir, Chief Revenue Officer for Star Media Group. “As Ontario’s largest annual sporting event, the race affects all Torontonians, whether they are race fans who want to catch up on the latest Honda Indy news or motorists interested in weekend road closures.”
