Toronto, Ontario – Move Motorsports Management, promoters of Canadian open wheel racing, announced on Tuesday the 2015 schedule for the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship Series.
The province-wide slate features 6 double-header events at 3 of Ontario’s most challenging facilities.
"The Toyo Tires F1600 Championship Series has grown from the smallest F1600 Championship in North America to the largest in just 2 seasons," said Jason Sharpe, series promoter. "The level of skill and commitment to excellence delivered week in and week out by the competitors and their teams, coupled with marquee events and a national television package have re-ignited a passion for open wheel racing in Canada. Our goal is to continue to build on that foundation again this year.”
The season will open at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for the Victoria Day Speedfest, May 15-17, in support of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. The series will return to the world-class facility 3 more times over the season, most notably for the Father’s Day favourite Canadian Historic Grand Prix, an event that will also be featuring the Formula Ford marque as part of the vintage racing festival.
The technically challenging Shannonville Motorsport Park is back on the schedule in July after a one-year hiatus and in August competitors will tackle the popular Calabogie Motorsport Park, located just outside Ottawa.
Additional announcements including the broadcast package, on-track schedules, sponsorships, regulations and registration will be forthcoming in the next few weeks.
